| Home alone for 10 days This has been on my mind since last Thursday and I can't stop thinking about this situation. Am I upset for nothing? My next door neighbors home school their six children ages 18-3. THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM. I am only telling you because I am trying to tell you about their homelife. They also have a Sheltie who had five pups. House full of children and noise. The neighbors left on a 10 day vacation. The kids told me the puppies were going to their aunt's house while they were on vacation. I assumed they were taking the mother as well. They didn't........they left this dog, took her 6 week old puppies and went on vacation. Another neighbor boy is letting the mother dog out twice a week for 10 days. This dog has been left alone in a deathly quite and still house and weaned from her puppies all at the same time. I am so disappointed in these people, am I wrong? Do I say something? Mind my own business?

| If you are so concerned, why didn't you offer to help with the dog in the first place?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | The poor dog. Do you have any way of getting a hold of them or the relative who has the puppies? Maybe you could ask the kid who is letting her out how to get a hold of them, and if you are in a position to help out or soend some tie with her. I know you mmust feel terrible for her.

| Because I didn't know they left the mother dog home until I saw the other neighbor boy letting her out. I asked him if his family was taking care of the litter of pups and the mother. He told me by this time it had already been seven days.

| Excuse me! I find it rude & unfair that she prefaced the entire subject with the fact that the family has 6 children and homeschool. To me that doesn't have anything to do with the problem. I come from a large family and was homeschooled, so I find it insulting. Sorry to OP for sounding "harsh", but the tone of the thread just irritated me. Maybe you can talk to the little boy who is helping with the Mama dog and maybe he'd let you take over his responsibilities?

| I think she only mentioned it because she wanted to show us that the mama dog was used to people around all the time. Kids, adults it's alot of action going on in the house. and now the poor mamas is left alone and without her babies. She must be really scared and wondering what's going on. I wonder why they didn't take to mother dog with them for her babies sake. I believe that was all she meant. Don't be so sensitive no one is judging. This is not a debate on whether or not home schooling is better.

| I'm not being sensitive, merely stating my thoughts. However, its quite clear that some people are judging others. Anyway, I'm done with this thread.

My problem is a dog left home alone for 10 days without her normal environment in addition to weaning her from her 6 week old pups. I am one of six,our home was full of noise. Never quite and still. I was and am worried about the Sheltie.

| Oh, that's so sad that these people would leave their dog alone for that long. I don't understand some people, why couldn't whomever took the puppies also take mama? Wish I could offer some advice, not sure what you should do, but don't blame you for being upset |

| I walk Carlie and Rocky past this house several times a day. I was sick when found out what was going on......... she had already been home alone for 7 days and nights, poor "lil Chloe" she had to have been scared and so lonely. The family is home now, I have seen Chloe out in the yard, she seems okay. When the time is right, I will mention we are home most of the time. If you need help with Chloe just ask. Thanks again for your input and suggestions.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I hope it wasn't to soon to take the puppies away and only being let out twice a week is NOT enough. What that poor dog must be thinking......
