Grooming School

Thank you Wylie's Mom! I love it. I actually have an appt for an interview today for mobile grooming position...wish me luck! I'm planning to go to local humane societies/shelters & volunteer to groom the dogs & cats so they can look good on adoption day (+ get more practice so I'll be more confident). As for the actor...phfgkl...I'm gonna stay professional & not say.... I used to be a make-up artist & it just comes w/the job.

What a talent! You should make an album to show all your work to potential customers. Good luck with your own shop in the future. Keep us posted we would visit you in San Diego when you get things going we have family there.

Hi everyone...thanks for all your support & positive thoughts...I got the mobile grooming position!! So excited. I start training on Fri...have to navigate around West Hollywood, Beverly Hills area, in a huge van.
I only work 3 days a week so I'll definitely make plans to go to shelters & help out any way I can...I'll keep you'll posted & upload some pictures too. Who knows, I might even end up adopting!

CONGRATS!!!

How exciting. I was actually telling my daughter this morning that I'd love to start my own grooming business (a mobile one) I've been seeing alot in my area lately. I'm so glad I ran into this thread. I'm going to check out grooming school you attended. I actually already groom our 5 yorkies now and have gotten compliments before and one time worker @ PetsMart complimented apple on her grooming and I proudly said "Oh thank you I did it"

You'll love the school I went to. They provide a day on the mobile, so you get a feel of how it is (it's really fun, but alot of work). Don't get spoiled though (I did), their van is fantastic. Check out their website, it has great videos you can watch. Dog Grooming School Pet Grooming School Pet Grooming Franchise and Mobile Pet Grooming. We had a class mate that came all the way from Dakota! She (we all) liked the fact that it was only 5 weeks long (excellent if you're making a career change), totally hands on (start on real dogs on day 2!), reasonably priced (some other schools are $8grand +), & the instructors are excellent! I did go on their website and it's amazing how short the course is and the price is much less then everywhere else I've seen. The only problem is I'm currently working part time so wouldn't be able to go until the summer when I'm off for 3 mos (i work at a school) but not sure if I'll be able to afford it this summer though.

Hmmm maybe I can put on credit card. Maybe not good idea I'm trying to pay them off LOL
Oh well, I still plan to do it just not sure when .

I know what you mean...I used my credit card. I'll be paying it off slowly, but I too was only working part time & needed something permanent & actually something that I enjoyed doing.
I got hired by Aussie Pet Mobile. The director of the school, Yvonne, referred me to them. They had actually called on the last day of class & she came by my table & whispered 'I might have a job for you'.
I didn't expect to get hired (cuz I didn't have enough experience), but surprisingly, the final deciding factor for them was the fact that I went to school. I am very thankful.

I went to help out today for Adoption Day! I only had 3 hrs to do as many dogs as I can cuz I had other appts. I hope they all got adopted to wonderful loving homes. These are after bath shots...they were all sweethearts, giving me kisses & licking my hand.

Very Nice!! I have been grooming for 10 years and have owned my own shop for the last 6 years. I really cant believe that you only went to school for 5 weeks. I went to NASH Grooming Academy. I was there for 5 months. It was a great school!!!
