I Love Thor Donating Member | Abandoned Newborn Squirrel I just got back from walking my dogs, and on my walk I heard a squeak come from the tall grass in the park. My dog (the lab, she's really my parents dog) sniffed around and picked up this little animal. I told her to drop it and she did, and I saw that it was a tiny little baby squirrel! So I came back to the house and got a container and put some towels in it and went and collected the baby and walked over and asked my neighbor what I should do with it. He told me that it wouldn't survive and there was nothing I could do! So my plan was to walk back home and find out where the nearest wild life animal rescue center was and bring it there. Well as I was passing the place where I icked the baby up from I saw a squirrel run to a tree that was very near the spot where it had laid on the ground. I looked for any sign of a squirrel before I took him and I didn't see anything. So I ended up just putting the baby back where I found it in hopes that that was the momma looking for its baby. I am worried I didn't to the right thing to help this little guy out! It also had some cuts, and I couldn't tell how bad they were!! Poor fella! |

| Ah poor little squirrel. You probably did the right thing putting him back where you found him. The mommy will go and get him.
