| My complaint was due to 2 extremely stressful days at work - AI was the release I was looking forward to. My previous comments had nothing to do with not caring about this country. I am passionate about this country, it's future and seeing our Constitution upheld I spend a great deal of time on political issues and spent much time away from YT this past year due to my passion for the future of this country. There are just days you need the release of non-thinking tv

On top of that the speech will be re-aired bit by bit for days. You won't be able to miss it even if you try! I was watching Fox this am and got a laugh when someone said that Nancy P must have written the speech. She kept popping up to her feet every 10 seconds ----before our president had even finished his sentences! That is going to be a Saturday Night Live bit for sure! I like the President but Nancy P is another story. Anyway!!!!!!! AI is back tonight. I guess I am going to have to dvr Survivor tomorrow night! Last edited by Lou; 02-25-2009 at 06:45 AM. | |

| This is the first time I ever watched the whole speech of any president, I didn't get up from my seat at all. It gave me more confidence, Change has FINALLY come and a feeling of hope, `At least I've got somebody who is more on my side than before. My hope for the country is that we can come together. This made me laugh as it brought back memories of growing up in the sticks in Illinois with THREE tv channels, 19, 25 & 31. When the president made a speech all the kids felt doomed. I can still hear us whining " oh no the presidents on tv, and he's on ALL THREE CHANNELS!" rofl

| Well I have watched plenty of presidential speeches in my lifetime. And Lou you are about it being replayed everywhere - they started right off on the local news, then on ABC's Nightline and now with DTV conversion I have 3 PBS choices - and 2 of the 3 re-aired the entirety of the speech at the same time last night. Plus there is the internet. A word to us all - we better be careful or we'll get this nice little thread shut down for discussing politics ![]() My biggest grip about the delay in Idol, is that my local FOX station is often broadcasting some college ball game and so they are already pushing Idol back to 10pm, after they of course get in their 1 hr news cast -- so the inconvenience is huge ![]() I'm hoping though the DTV conversion will help this in the future , as last night, the ABC station who has a contract with another university to air BB games creatively moved the game to their 2nd station, while keeping Obama's speech on the regular network channel. I hope the FOX station will start doing this - although right now they are showing 2 channels, but both are showing the exact same programming at the same time. Does anyone else have a FOX station pre-empting regular programming for more local things like games?

| I am so glad I have Dish and a DVR. I always record AI and start watching it about halfway through so I can bypass all the commercials. Of course my biggest fear with having satellite is having a big storm when AI is on and loosing our signal. Fortunately that does not happen too often. |

| I hope the contestants this week are better than most of the contestants last week! I'm looking forward to AI!

| I think the contestants were overall better than most of the contestants last week. I really really liked Jasmine before this week..she is just too cute and has a great voice, but she really didn't do well tonight (and I just love the song "Love Song" too). I was hoping she'd do great and move on. I REALLY like Allison tonight..she was awesome I thought, and great song choice! And then I like Kris too. I guess my third choice was that girl with the really long name that starts with an "M" LOL..she sang "Drops of Jupiter" but there were a few other pretty good singers in there too.

| Michelle - Is it Mishavonna you're referring to? I thought she looked cute and sounded great...a lot better than the judges led her to believe...yea..maybe she could have been a little more "youthful" but I think her voice sounded good for that song. I really like Megan Joy...I also like the red head girl, Allison, and I even like the last guy, Adam..yea, he might have overdone it a little but I still think he would do great in the competition. And Jasmine--I wish she would have done another song...very cute, nice voice...not a good night for her I'm afraid. Now Nick....ugh...I'm speechless. I mean, I thought he was going to come out looking normal like he did in the tapes but boom...there was that sparkly shirt and cooky theatrics again!!! I actually thought if he took advantage of the opportunity they gave him by putting him through and gotten a little more serious, he wouldn't be too badMaybe Carnival Cruiselines could use him...lol
