I will agree that Ellen is a witty and funny person to watch on her show. i think it will be interesting to see her interact with Randy, Simon and now Kara and see how she handles the judging role, she could really bring a lot of humor to Simon's snide remarks, though i admit also i often agree more with Simon than any other judge...he's a tell it like it is kind of guy.

I am happy that Ellen is a judge on American Idol too. I agree with everybody that stated that Ellen serving as the average Joe judge even though she is a celebrity would make the show more enjoyable to watch. I cannot wait to see Ellen use humor to counteract Simon's opinions towards the performers and other judges' critiques. I do like Simon by the way. American Idol hiring Ellen as the fourth judge made me excited to watch the show. I was not as excited to watch the show like last year immediately after American Idol decided not to renew Paula's contract. I wish Paula well in all of her endeavors. It was interesting to read everybody's opinions about Ellen being the fourth judge on American Idol. I cannot wait to talk about this show on this thread again when the show airs on TV. Talking about the show with you guys make watching the show more enjoyable. :)

I love Ellen! I have watched her show since the first season, and am very excited to see her on AI. The show was starting to lose its touch, and now this just brings a new level of excitement :)

I never thought about that, you are right, Ellen will be great with Simon, she has a very quick wit, and I think Paula had a hard time putting him in his place, and she had to resort to such things as covering his mouth, but Ellen can really hold her own with him. I'm looking forward to this too!

Well, i don't like Ellen. never have. I'm not a big fan of talk shows or their hosts. I wish paula had stayed and they had let Kara go. I really, really dislike her and her superior attitude. i think she was only brought on to force paula off. i don't see how Ellen can contribute anything with no musical background. that's what I would like to see. A full panel of judges from all genres of music backgrounds. I probably won't watch much this year. I didn't enjoy it as much last year as I have been. Adam was my favorite all the way thru except when he destroyed "Ring of Fire". I expected them to boo him off the stage on that one.
