Nancy 1999 you really hit the nail on the head of why Kris won. It wasn't "I'm going to vote for Kris because he's so fantastic", it was "I'm going to vote for Kris because I don't like that the judges praised Adam and I don't want Adam to win".

I knew this was the way it was going to turn out but it's still hard to accept. I have watched every episode of every season of Idol and have liked a lot of the contestants, but there has never been a performer with Adam's talent and ability to evoke emotion. The one ray of sunshine is now Adam doesn't have to release Kara's horrible song.

I'm an Adam fan but he has a LONG way to go before he could even touch the greatness of Freddie.... those shoes are way too big for anyone to fill!! (HUGE Freddie fanatic here - can you tell?) Adam does have his own amazing style though and I think he's bound for great things :D

Congrats to Kris and all his fans but IMO Adam did get robbed...

Well you could tell even Kris didn't think he should have won. It was on his face when he beat Danny and then again last night. All the votes for Danny went to Kris, but Adam will go a lot farther. I think they gave Kris a free ride when Adam 1st sang Kara's bad song and Simon said I'm not going to judge that song I'm going to judge you. So then after that when Kris couldn't sing it Kara said the song was not for your range. (thought AI was a sinning contest:thumbdown)

Say what you want but Kris deserved to win and did not
win because the judges praised Adam. He won because
he deserved to. He is a very talented young man.
He sings music people can understand and it comes from
his heart.
Adam is very talented also but not every America relates
to, a man wearing black nail polish and dressing
like a mad scientist. Let's not forget the eyeliner.
No, this dosen't take away from his talents by any means
but who can take someone like this seriously? Especailly
the older audience. No question on his voice however
American is saying we would not purchase this kind of music!

I think last nights show was great. Our Daughter really wanted Adam to win after Danny was sent home. But I really like Kris. I told her he's gonna win because he's like the boy next door and sings with his heart. And yep he won, I really think he was the best choice. I like to hear music, the screaming drives me nuts, I don't understand it and it makes my head hurt.

Now our Daughter can't wait for it to start all over again.

Wow, some of you remind me of a post-presidential election a few years ago! Kris won fair and square. He appealed to more people than Adam did. I am sure that Adam will reap benefits beyond belief through his AI exposure. He wasn't cheated at all He was already a winner before last night. And Yes, Kris got the Danny votes. No one should have been surprised by that. I am happy for both of the contestants.

My only problem with last nights show was having to look at the bikini girl and Tatiana again! YUCK! I'm really glad that Cara got to show bikini girl up!

I hope Cara doesn't come back next year. I really don't like her anymore. As I said before she was soooo pro Adam that it left a bad taste in my mouth. I think She, Paula and Simon will all think twice before they speak in the future.

But I have to say I am very disappointed. I would never go to a Kris concert but I would love to go see Adam. He isn't any more "strange" or "dramatic" than Elton John or Kiss and look at them!!

I think along with the Jason Mraz type of music, he has great potential in the "Renegade Country" area too. Would love to hear some of that.

The look on Kris's face was surprise is all. He wouldn't have been there
if he didn't believe he had talent. Kris needs to believe more in himself.
He's to humble and in the world of music he needs to be more aggressive.

If everyone thinks Kris got Danny's votes, which is true, this alone
tells you American don't dig Adam's kind of music. That say's it all.

P.S. Please remember he beat Danny on his own.

I forgot to add, that I found it strange that Kara would comment
on Kris not hitting the higher notes in that song.
My questions that night and now is, if the song was written for
Kris why did you delibertly write a song out of his range to begin

I have watched most of the season of Idol. I was very happy that Kris won last nite, although Danny was my first choice.

I believe that America stood firm in the voting.

Kris is the epitomy of the " American boy", he is sweet, and all around a good representation of working hard, and talent that can be developed even more.

Adam, has had more training, and that actually swayed my vote from early on. He was way to dramatic, and flamboyant for me, being a little older than most of you guys. His singing entailed a lot of screaming for the high notes.....Sure he was talented, and I am sure he will do well, in the right genre. I never knew what to expect from week to week regarding his appearance, and his song choices. I just feel that the controversy surrounding him, his lifestyle unfortunately had to play a factor, including the fact that the judges were sooooooo biased......and his appearance.....well, not my style, but hey he had a lot of followers......so there is room for that somewhere in entertainment.

As we all know, the final person standing does not mean they will have the most successs, look at other winners, and where they are.

I think deep down, America is still a 'traditional" country, that still supports the "clean cut, hard working, conservative, and humble" performers......it may have been a little of a stretch for many voters to choose the flamboyance, vs the "nice guy" image.

I'm disappointed that Adam didn't win! I am 45 years old and grew up on rock music, Queen, Kiss, Judias Priest and Adam surpasses even their vocal talent! I'm a child of flamboyance!!! I love Elton John (now that is flamboyant LOL), I really don't think his sexuality should EVER have a part in whether or not he should have won. I'm not for that lifestyle by any means but it has no baring on his AMAZING vocal skills and just plain superior talent!!
Although Kris is a great vocalist his voice is a dime a dozen...just listen to any of the current boy bands lead singers and you'll find Kris's type of music and voice.
Adam is a rare find and that is what American Idol is about finding that stand out, stand alone amazing vocal ability to sing something out of this world and make it amazing and that is what Adam does. Kris is a dime a dozen. JMHO :)

I agree with Brooklynee's and Archie's opinions. I read many places on the internet that people did not care for Adam's style of singing, so they voted for Kris instead. I voted for Adam Tuesday night, but part of me wanted to vote for Kris. I do not like to hear Adam hit the dramatic high note screaming in every song. Sometimes, I just want to hear him sing it than scream it. I voted for Adam, because he was the contestant I tuned in to watch every week. I think I am more likely to listen to Adam's genre of music than Kris. I like music with a strong rhythm or beat to the music.

This is the thing...Adam can sing just about any kind of genre and make it his own. I'm not into that high note on a guy but you just have to get past his girly voice and simply see he NEVER misses a note or a pitch. His version of Mad World on Tuesday was far better than when he first sang it which made me love his amazing talent even more. I was so GLAD when they ended with Queen and I personally couldn't hear Kris except when he sang solo because Adam in my opinon sang that better than Freddy Mercury! Just simply amazing!! You see, this is what AI is about the singers that will not be forgettable ie...Ruben, Taylor Hicks ect...Kris will just be in the background like they were because he just sings your average boy band type of music, again JMHO

Well did you hear me scream all the way in Ohio:D It was a dead give away when Simon was saying 'don't forget to vote for Adam' they knew how heavy the votes were coming in for Kris every single week. The one wins that they want to win and that is all there is to it. Kris deserved to win.

I don't think it was the best American Idol year. I loved last year and will never like anyone better than David Cook but Kris and Carrie Underwood come in second for me and I'm sure he will sell as many albums as they have, he has that 'it' factor and I LOVE HIS VOICE.

The show was the best finale thought IMO and Kiris's song with Keith Urban
was my favorite of all. Carlos Santana, L. Richie, Rod Stewart and Allison with
her idol....shoot how can I forget her name. Anyway it was a wonderful show
and although I thought he might be second a month ago, once he got into to the last two, I knew he had it. :)

I think Kris will get somewhere with his music, just as I feel Adam will. My friend voted for Adam, but, she knew Kris won when I told her it took me forever to get through to vote, she said she got through right away when she was voting for Adam.

Yet another reason for me to dislike that woman!

I loved seeing Rod Stewart sing. I have always like him. I am not a rock person but I still enjoyed Adam and Kiss. I thought David Cook was great.

I think, and this is terrible to say, that a lot of people probably did vote for Kris instead of Adam because of Adams sexuality. The thing is, if you have a lot of girls voting, even if a guy is married, they will still try and go after them, with Adam girls knew there was no chance. I think, and again its sad to say, if Adam would have been straight, he probably would have won. I really think the last month of the show, they should let the judges be the ones to judge and not the fans! Also, sometimes you have to be someone you're not, Adam should have kept the nail polish and eye makeup off, and he probably would have won

Even if you don't like Adam, I think all the interest he generated will help the other contestants; he created a real buzz. I had to die laughing when bikini girl tried to keep singing when Kara was singing, flipping her hair and wiggling her hips, I guess she thinks that is "stage presence." I was really impressed with Kara's performance, to quote her, "she has some real chops!"

I think that was all staged, even the first guy that won had his shorts on under his clothes

She just looks really young. Personally, I think 45 is a "baby". But then, I'm old. :)

Oh I think she was definitely surprised when Kara came out. I believe the part you mentioned was staged and when Tatiana kept singing after they told her to stop, but bikini girl looked like she was really in shock. I think she thought she would sing, and absolutely wow the audience with her gifted voice. Some of the audience were wowed, but it wasn't her voice. :D
