| Best food to feed the expecting mom What is the best food to feed my friends expecting mom. Puppy food? Regular food. Of course you dont want fat puppies when they are born, but they need to be a healthy birth weight and strong. Help please. |

I've always heard and this is exactly what I do that you are suppose to feed them puppy food through pregnancy and nursing. I prefer a premium Lamb & Rice formula. But that is just my opinion.

| The Puppies wont be to fat if you feed the mom Puppy Food all threw the pregnancy? It would make for strong puppies I am sure. She just used regular food last time and the puppies were week and soooo thin. I thought the puppy food would help but she is worried that the babies will get to big and cause a problem at birth. |

Oh no I feed mine puppy food from the week after we bred her and she is still eating it. She had one pretty big puppy but the other 2 were a lot smaller and she had no problems at all. It just took her a little lnger to have the first one. As she had her to the vet for x-rays and to see how large they think the puppies are? That would be the best thing to do.
