| banking question - need some quick advice If you have a bank account, just say it's Bank of America and you deposit your paycheck that is from another Bank of America account, will it deposit immediately or do they still put a hold on it for a couple days?

| I'm pretty sure that if it's just a different branch of your same bank it should deposit that same way as it would your regular branch.

| Okay that makes me feel better... I was starting to panic. Hubby thought that since it was the same banking company that the check would deposit ASAP and I believed him... now we're in the hole $40. The main bank we use is a credit union and the money is available the moment it goes in the bank so we aren't used to this check holding thing.

| It should post as if you deposited to your own branch. I do mine the same way quite a lot and never had a hold put on the money. |

| Ashley are you talking about the account or the branch where it is deposited? If you deposit your check at one Bank of America, but your "home office" is another branch, it should post to your account just as if you deposited it at your own branch. About the account type though-if you had a BoA account, and someone gave you a check from another BoA account, it would still take them time to clear the funds and deposit them into your account. If you had a check from US Bank, I would think it would take the same amount of time, maybe a day longer than one from BoA. I hope that makes sense and answers your questions.

| Banks can't place a hold on a check from the same institution. The funds are available the next business day depending on the bank's cut off time is how soon your funds will be available. Most banks cut off time is @ 3 pm, therefore if you deposit your check after 3 chances are that the funds aren't going to be available tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow( that is if you deposited your check on a weekday), anyhow! I hope that helps! One thing you can do if you have a BOA check that you are depositing in your BAO account cash it and deposit it as cash. The availablty for that is right away for withdrawals only, it doesn't guarrante to cover any transactions pending.
