![]() I actually contemplated getting a 5 for the band but the saleswoman was advising me to go for the 4.5 since even on a cold day, the 4.5 she saw fitting nicely through the bone joint. I had expressed my concern of heat swelling and pre and post-pregnancy size. I didn't like the idea of having any foreign object "stuck" on me like some people don't seem to mind no longer being able to pull off their band without the help of lots of soap, oil or a saw. | |

| I've always heard your wedding band first (closest to your heart), engagement ring second. It makes absolutely NO sense at all to me. Seems like the engagement ring would go on first. I mean, you get it first, right? What do you do with your engagmenet ring during your actually wedding ceremony? Not wear it? Take it off while he puts the band on? |

| I would switch depending on how my fingers were for the day. I always had my hands in water so I was afraid of my engagement ring sliding off. Now my engagement portion is a 1/4 size smaller than the band portion so I don't have that worry anymore and I don't bartend anymore.

| I had my hands in water all the time and was cooking over a hot flattop so mine go on and off alot...as well as my "IOU" opal ring. they go on whatever way they want to. I thought there was also a cultural reason to wear one way or the other. Like Latin vs. European...hmmm. who knows. |
