I think there may be a RAT in my house!!

OMG a RAT!!! I hate rats I had on in my house when a framer was getting rid of his farm he got rid of all of his feed so the rats went to look for new homes and 1 liked mine Even my cats would not go near it. Hubby set a trap and it was bigger then a half gallon milk container!! And DvlshAngel985 rats in NY can get verry big. We have river rats and I saw one in the road and put my breaks on thinking it was a smaller dog because it was bigger than a cat.

I'm terrified of rats, mice, snakes, - well, just critters in general! Your mother is BRAVE!

I had plain old field mice back in the early fall, and I freaked out. It took 2 weeks and an exterminator to get 'em all. I trapped 2 at different times by turning the trashcan in my bathroom upside down over them. Screamed like a maniac the whole time and had my son take em outside and "dispose" of them.

Thank God your super is going to do something about 'em. Make sure you pull everything out of the cabinets and wash good. The droppings will make you and your babies sick.

My mom caught another last night, same size. She is furious! There must be a big hole somewhere in my kitchen and they need to fix it, shes calling the owners of the building right now.

When I was younger I helped on a farm, and there were rats int he barns. They weren't bad during the day, but at night when you had to be out there with a pig giving birth you could hear them and see them. Oh My Goodness....Creepy!! They can grow to be big beasts.

yup they get that big. There used to be a guy in spanish harlem that would kill them with a bat. They would come running down the street and he would swing and they would go flying. lol I saw it on the news.

oo i hate field mice also. I've seen them a couple times in the park fields. I hate mice in general, i hate rats, i hate water bugs and i live in the best place for all of them lol I will make sure to check everything, thanks! We need to find those holes first, they must have been tiny holes that they made bigger cause we never ever had a rat

Oh my god! You've got to be kidding me!!! The only rats I've seen were pet rats. They never got much bigger than a ginuea pig!! But for a rat to look like a small dog.... let's just say I'd never be able to live in New York, I'm gettin goosebumps just thinking about it. You two New Yorkers have my respect!!!
Just to share...at my condo in Irvine, as well as on campus, we have bunnies everywhere!!! Sounds cute right? That is until you figure out that they attract prey animals that sometimes mistake cute kitties and doggies as food....

Time to put some rat bate out where the little ones have no chance of getting to it. We're moving into a house, and I left my son and his friend while I went to the water company. When I came back I said that's it I'm buying rat bates. The people who lived there before us were total slops. I think it should have been the owners job to clean all the crap up around the yard, but he's left it a mess, and still has stuff in the house, and we're suppose to move in next Saturday. I told my hubby I was taking everything that's his putting it in bags, and putting it in the Lunai. If it gets wet oh well. Can't you tell me this has me in a raggie mood.

No respect for me, i am a wimp. Whenever i think there is one on the street i run and kick my legs like a horse to 'try' and scare them away LOL But they really don't come out in the daylight, it's mostly just at night and they like to hide under cars, and in garbage. One night i was going up to these park stairs and one big one ran over my foot, omg i almost had a heart attack! I had on my headphones, listening to music, totally zoned out when out of nowhere i feel a big heavy rat on my bare foot, i was wearing flip flops! I seriously ran home screaming. YUCK! Bunnies are cute, where my brother lives there are cute ones running around and also deer....but if they attract prey i wouldnt want them around lol Good thing i havent seen any dangerous animals near his house, there are house cats running loose, i love bunnies tho! i'd rather have them than rats!

I would but right now we just have traps under things, where the dogs won't go cause it is def. not a permenant thing! lol There is a hole somewhere and someone is going to come this week and close it up! It's somewhere in the kitchen...Congrats on the new house! It should have been the previous owner's jobs to clean it, but i def. hope you don't get any rats.

OMGosh! I can't believe that rat ran over your foot! I would have freaked and been up on the table with you! Now your Mom found another one? I think I'd leave until I knew they were all gone. You said the one was probably a baby rat...do you think the whole family might be there? I hope you don't have any more encounters with rats. I hate rats...can't even look at them if I see them at the pet store or on TV. Creeeeepie!!!! Good luck!
