Donating YT 10K Club Member | You could always sell it or you can have it melted down and made into something else. I did that with an engagement ring....actually a couple of times. LOL

| Personally..... I would not get rid of it. I still have mine. I think you should hold onto it... what if you have a daughter one day... its something you can pull out and talk about it. Maybe she will want it. My niece will get mine.

| isn't it kinda odd to give someone else a ring that represents a broken promise? It's just when i look at that ring- i dont' think of happy things... I wish i didn't because i it is really a beautiful ring and totally a style i would wear... maybe the emotions attached to it still aren't gone... although i thought they were... i guess this tells me otherwise. .. maybe i should just tuck it away until i can look at it and not feel these things. |

I would tuck it away again then maybe in a few years, you would feel differently about it.

| I agree with Twalla. Unless, it was a really unhappy time in your life then yeah, I think I'd find somewhere else for it to go. BUT, if it wasn't then I'd def. keep it... it's part of what made you who you are today. One of these days you'll most likely feel differently about it.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I say just keep it, put it away somewhere and take it out again a really long time from now to see how you feel. Most likely you will feel different. I actually have a box with pictures, letters, movie tickets(cheesy i know) of an ex bf. We didn't go out for long but i did know him since the 2nd grade and we were each other's first crushes, then we dated officially in 10th grade. Anyway he sent me lots of letters when i was at camp one summer and i kept them and pictures of him. When we broke up i was thinking of throwing it all out but instead i put it away in my closet, now when i take it out i just laugh about it. It doesn't make me sad or anything, but i like to go back and read the letters. And maybe someday i can show my kids, cause they are memories after all and part of my history Even if he wasn't even a serious bf, hes the only bf that actually wrote me letters, and i think thats cool since we have all this technology now. Anyway if you really dont want it sell it, and take it to a jewelery shop to see how much its worth.

| I have rings from exes. One of them is pretty, I actually picked it out, I don't wear it because I hate the guy that gave it to me but I still like the ring so I just keep it in my jewelry box. the other two are kinda funky looking but I still keep just for memories sake since there are no bad feelings for the guy they are from. If it brings up too many emotions when you look at it, maybe you should put it away for awhile, or if you can, get it appraised and try selling it, then go out and buy a different ring or something that you like.

| Hold on to it at least until you're ready to make a bigger jewelry purchase. You should be able to get full value as a trade in at a jewelry store if you want to buy yourself something nicer.

| I guess I'm different than most -- unless the ring was of significant value I would have a "flushing ceremony". I don't like skeletons in my closet and once I'm done, I'm done! That being said, I have been married to the same man for 27 1/2 years - we've been an exclusive couple for almost 33. |

| If it were me, I'd go to Red Swan....you can check them out here: Red Swan - Home They're supposed to be pretty reputable. You send your jewelry to them, they apprasie it and send you a check and if you aren't satisfied with it, you can return the check within 10 days (I think that's the time period) and they'll return your items to you.

| I have a promise ring and a BEAUTIFUL diamond pendant that really is gorgeous. The promise ring is super cute and dainty but I have no desire to wear it, I don't think I would get rid of it. The neckless is beautiful and 3/4 carat so I feel really bad about it just sitting there, but I can't wear it either. My hubby is so funny he's like, wear it! But it was such a horrible relationship I just can't! I think I am going to get that one appraised and sell it. Isn't it funny how these things are?

| Have the top cut off and made into a necklace. View cutting it off as a "symbol" of it's own. |
