New Year's traditions

We have one of the greatest family traditions...GO TO BED!!! Haha nothing real special over here.

-We sweep the door step to sweep off any bad things that might have come into the house during the year

- We do an extensive cleaning of the house and then take a bath in lavender and roses. This is to cleanse ourselves from the bad things of the previous year.
- We must buy entirely new outfits to wear in order to start the new year in a new pair of clothes. This gives luck for new things.
-The whole family must wear the same color underwear. I have no clue why, but my mom strictly enforces it and even checks everyone.

Sure sounds like A LOT of fun!! I am curious about the luggage thing. Does it work? Do you travel a lot? We never go anywhere. If it works, then maybe I'll wake up my husband this year at midnight and try it!!

These all sound like so much fun. I asked a coworker if she had any fun traditions and she says (very snippy) "I don't believe in that crap". Party pooper!!!

Well I do travel a lot! I am not sure if it works but I haven't gone a year without traveling somewhere.

Im going to do the dollar in the shoe! I put it in already! Im going to leave it there all night! hehe

I don't have any traditions on NYE. Some years we go out, some years we travel, some years we stay home and have a party or go a friends house for a party.

New Years Day we order out Chinese food. Although this year my family is gone so I need to keep the tradition with my boyfriend and his family maybe!

I see that there are a few people that eat Chinese... just wondering if there is a purpose or just because? I love knowing people's traditions! It's so fun to see how different we all are.
