Donating YT 10K Club Member | I bought the product for my daughter. It helped...but honestly I don't know if was the product or the fact she was washing her face regularly afterward. It did not solve the problem...I took her to dermatologist and she got a prescription for low dose antibiotic and retin A. Her skin is now picture perfect. These cost less than the proactive also.

| I have a 15 year old teenage daughter, we've tried a lot of stuff. She gets them on her forehead and chin. Well we found this. It workds wonders. Wash there face and night and in the morning. It is awesome. We use nothing else. It takes about 4 days before you notice. I found sometimes certain things would make them worse and red. She has much clearer skin now. Still gets her breakout around her period, but not bad. Neutrogena Oil Free Stress Control Power Clear scrub Its only around 8.00 too. and I've spent all kinds of money at all different prices and this stuff works by far better than anything out there for her. | I like proactive, I use it every day but not exactly how the package directs . I needed it because I cave crazy combination skin! I had pretty much perfect skin before I moved to South Texas and now that I live here my eyebrows and nose are super dry and the rest of my face is oily from the humidity here. I started to get itty bitty little bumps on my forehead when I wore makeup and I ordered Proactive immediately. It worked overnight for me, and made all the dryness disappear. I only wash my face with proactive at night before bed and I use all three products. I seemed to run out of the scrub before the rest so I went on line to order and found that I could change the combination of products shipped and the frequency. So I save a lot of $! If I had acne I would probably use the system like one should, twice a day all three steps. Sometimes I just use the scrub in the shower and that is all for the day. I ran out of cleanser (scrub) for almost 2 months. Me being cheap I was going to stick it out until my next scheduled shipment, and I did notice a difference in my skin, it wasn't as smooth and statred to get bumpy on my forehead again, so I will never let myself run out again, no matter the cost! Long story short, I'm pleased with the product, and I would recommend it as someone who just wants beautiful skin.

| I used Proactive for about 3 months and YES it DID work...but I agree with what BLEU BOY BARBER said. As soon as I stopped using it, the acne came back with a vengeance! Also, I learned the hard way that you have to be sure that your face is COMPLETELY dry before laying down, or putting on clothes, etc or you will stain any fabric that your face comes in contact with. My biggest complaint with the products were the price. I guess I didn't realize that the "$19.95" that they sell it for to new customers isn't the price that you have to pay to get the same products after you run out. It just didn't fit into my budget--especially since I had to buy new bedsheets, towels and t-shirts. I am glad that I tried the product though. It really got me into the habit of washing my face twice daily and that in it's self helped clear up my face. Now, I use a cleanser, moisturizer, spot treatment, and twice weekly scrub that I buy from walmart.

| I used it for two or so months. It worked for about a month and then stopped working.

| I'm on the older side of life and I use Proactiv. Sold on it. Have tried many different brand regiments, including expensive department store brands, and have always gone back to Proactiv. Only use the scrub once per day, though. Use the toner and repairing lotion morning and evening. The mask once per week. It is true that the repairing lotion does cause color loss especially on pillow cases. I just use white so there's no problem. I've never had problems, though, with my clothes. Could be because I always wear makeup over the lotion and am always careful with my clothes touching my face. Good luck with finding a solution for your teenager. ~Joanne~

| Just saw this thread but I've used proactive for about 6-7 years now. WOW, that's a long time. I've recently started getting lazy and some acne is coming back but not horribly. Way better than when I started using this stuff. I've had acne since I was in 5th/6th grade (bad genes ) and I can't even begin to tell you everything I've used. I think I made my mom broke from dermatologists, doctors, facewashes, toners, pills, creams, gels, I've tried everything. Everything made me break out more, made me oily, red, flaky, some even made my skin feel like I had a really bad sunburn. Proactive is the only thing that has worked for me, my skin is also combo. I get oily, but then other parts are dry (get even dryer in the winter) and I've noticed this helps a lot. The only part of the Proactive system I can't use is the Mask... it also makes me break out horribly (i have no idea why.) So when I do get that occasional pimple I use Clearasil vanishing cream. I say give this stuff a shot, you can always cancel it if it doesn't work. Oh and like someone else said I too ran out of the facewash before anything else. I didn't know we could customize the order (after 6 years LOL). I'll have to look into that. Good luck! ETA: If you do buy this stuff for him, make sure you buy him a set of washcloths. I ruined my parents black and dark green towels so many times! OOPS! They finally had enough of re-buying towels and bought me a bunch of white washcloths. LOL

| Worked for us! Just wanted to add my two cents. This product is amazing on my brother's face! I use it too but he's the real testimony! He has, since high school, had really bad breakouts, and I mean BAD!! He's tried everything off the drugstore shelves and nothing worked! We've never had much money, so dermatologist were deffinitely out of the question. He ordered this with some money he had left over from financial aid in college and a few weeks later, HE HAD CLEAR SKIN! My parents, younger brother and I all noticed the dramatic difference. Ever since then I've used it and I love the scrub. It's usually the first thing I run out of. I'm brown skinned so patches or pimples aren't as noticeable on me, but my older brother is light skinned and red patches easily stand out on his skin. We have combination skin also and I can't rave about this product enough! We don't use it like the box indicates, as our skin is delicate, but we use it enough that it keeps all acne at bay. Like most things, this isn't a quick fix, miracle pill kind of thing. My older brother recently ran out, and his skin is irritated and broke out, plus the cold isn't helping (our skin cracks easily in the cold). I give this product a thumbs up! Just remember that what worked for us might not work for your son, we're individuals and so is our skin , but I think it's worth a try. Maybe you could order something small like the travel pack or ask for a free sample. That way you can try it and not have to worry about having extra bottles in your medicine cabinet if you decided it's not for you.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | WOW! I had not time to log in last night, so many answers!!! Thank you all! He is 18 and never had acne, a few black heads but the dermatologist and 1 facial every 6 months took care of that.He washes his face every day with this Buy Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Online at drugstore.com and it had worked fine, but I've noticed that a few months ago he started getting pimples (red, not white heads ), but on his cheeks , mostly the right side,I'm afraid they will leave a scar. I've tried changing pillow cases to white instead of color, but I can't think on what it could be.
