| Laser Hair Removal Has anyone ever had laser hair removal done? I'm just curious, I was going to check into it but I'm not sure how many times you would need to go.

| I'm bumping this up for you! Laser hair removal is something that I hope to one day be able to afford to do. Surely there's someone on here with some experience with it.

| I've had it done to my bikini line. I had to go 4 times (you pay for the 4 times- you don't pay per time- at least here.... ) and i have just a FEW light hairs left- but i used to get horrible razor burn so it's been SO worth it. You can buy numbing cream- can't even IMAGINE doing it without - as it was a bit painful even with the cream- however, the worst of it was the hour or so after- just the burning and itching. I hope to go in the new year and have under my arms done. It is just WONDERFUL not having to worry about your bikini line when you put a bathing suit on! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've had it done - about 5 years ago and LOVE it - money well spent. No more waxes, which I despised. I had about 5 sessions I think? It can definitely hurt, but it only hurt during the treatment - about 10 minutes - and it didn't bother me afterward at all.

| Thank you for your responses. I'm going to look into it some more and decide from there. I know in the end it will be worth it, I just have a really low tolorence for pain so thats why i'm kind of scared. LOL thanks!

| I had my upper lip done about 6 years ago. At the center I went, it was 5 sessions that you paid for and then got the 6th free. If your hair is light, it doesn't take very well - so that is something to consider. I did all 6 treatments and I still have hair left, but not a lot. I believe when I had it done, the entire thing was around $200. I have read that it is not permanent however - that because your body is continually changing, it is not possible to kill off all hair follicles. Read the fine print as most centers will not guarantee results and tell you the results last for up to about 3 years.

| okay i'm going to be the downer on this.. my sister got it done and on her 4th treatment they burnt her arms... she has white half circles all over the bottom half of her arms.. she has been to another doctor and dermatologist.. they don't know if it will ever go away.. right now she has to have sun screen at her arms at all times.. i feel so bad for her.. and this was a well known place that did laser hair removal.. but it just takes one person not paying attention to mess it up

| On another note...you haven't said what body part you want the hair removed from. If it's facial...be very careful as some kinds of facial hair will come back darker and longer. NOT...what you want as an end result. Last year I had my eyebrows done along with my daughter for her upcoming wedding. This is a procedure I've never done before. Since then I have eyebrow hairs where they never grew before. Ugg!!! Had I have known this I would never, ever had this done. Help...I'm now working on a uni-brow!!!

| I have never had this done, but my friend had her bikini and arm pits done. She said it hurt like h**l but it was well worth it. She had 5 treatments (5 for the arm pits and 5 for her bikini area) by the last one, she was really dreading going..... but she says its well worth it. She had it done a year ago and hasn't had any hairs come back. She was also informed that any major changes in your life will make it come back... such as major hormone changes, pregnancy, major depression...... Just something to keep in mind if you are planning on having kids anytime soon.
