Preventing colds??

On Friday we leave for Disney World! Last Christmas when we went to Disney I got REALLY sick on our last day. Flying back and being (miserably) sick was NOT fun. I guess all the flying, environmental changes, long days, etc. caught up with me.

I'd like to start taking something now so hopefully I can prevent getting a cold. Anyone know of any good remedies that prevents you from getting a cold? I'm thinking about getting some Vitamin C tablets.

yes! VITAMIN C's!! take them like crazy..
you can't do any harm... whatever your body does NOT need, you will just PEE out! i promise...

Really?? The last time I bought some I'd take like 1500-2000 MGs a day cause they were so good!

Yes vitamin C all the way.
Airborne, or any off brand, since it's all the same stuff. Drink two of them a day, they work!

There's a lot of people who say it doesn't work (they say it's all in your head, heck it still works, even if I may be tricking myself) but if I feel a cold starting to come on I'll drink a couple of those a day for a few days and the feeling of the cold will go away.
This just happened last week. I was at work and I'd feel really hot and sweaty, then cold, and my head was hurting and I kept sneezing. I did the whole airborne thing and it went away! If I'm already sick it doesn't do much except maybe cut my cold down by a day or two.

I hate being sick on vacations. I took a cruise a couple of years ago with my parents. During the last 2 days I got strep throat, 102 fever, and the flu.

Have fun in Disneyworld!!! I wanna go so badly next year. I've only been to disneyland.

I swear by zicam...I think it has zinc in it. I get the zicam nose spray because I don't like the taste of zinc and can't taste it when I use that. I tried the lozenges once and had that icky taste in my mouth.

I really like Airborne! They work pretty good. Too bad they taste so horrible! They should come in a pill form.

Isn't it horrible being sick on vacation? Luckily, I didn't start getting sick until the night before our last day. Flying home sick... not good.

I've heard good thinks about Zicam! I'm going to look into that. I think my mom uses that.

1/2 cup of pomegranate juice a day(it tastes nasty, but, works). Make sure that it isn't mixed with any other juices

My husband swears by Airborne...he says the Grapefruit flavor one is the most tolerable. He takes it everyday for about a week before getting on a plane.

Me? i'm a believer of carrying Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE with me....especially planes. I think airplanes are probably one of the most germiest places.
