What are you Allergic to? Hubby and I got on the converstation last night of things people are allergic to. He's allergic to yellow jackets, cats and Tide detergent. I'm allergic to sulfa drugs, spray deodorant, Gain detergent. AND seafood (which is ironic because Trixie is allergic to shellfish too.) So, what are you allergic to? I know there are some really off-the-wall things that trigger allergic reactions in people.... |
milk and all milk products :( and amoxicillian (I think tho, that is just the tip of the iceburg for me when it comes to meds.... i think i'm allergic to more) and i have horrible reactions to shots (ie. flu shot). oh i'm also slightly allergic to bees. My mom is also allergic to laundry detergent and my dad is allergic to bees. |
The only thing that I can even think of being allergic to food-wise is Clams. Funny, I can eat oysters (fried or on the half shell) but clams (cooked or otherwise) make me throw up for days! Needless to say, I stay away from them!!! |

I didnt think i was allergic to anything until i went down to the Florida panhandle to visit my girlfriend. She insisted i tried boiled peanuts since i've never had them before. Well apparently they are cajunized (Is that a word?:confused:) Oh well..anyways....my throat closed up so fast i couldnt believe it. So i guess i'm allergic to anything cajun. Cause i still eat peanuts! |
I'm allergic to eggs and grass. That's all I really know of. Now, my mom on the other hand, jeez. She's allergic to... fish, peanuts, milk - pretty much all dairy, tomatoes, peanut butter, penicilin, dogs, cats... I'll just say the air. There isn't a day that doesn't go by and she isn't either having an allergy attack or her face is breaking out from allergies and I don't mean pimples either, she'll get huge hives on her face if Lilly licks her or anything. It's CRAZY. Oh and the really weird thing about it, she's always had allergy tests done. After she had me, she found out she was deadly allergic to fish (she never was before). After she had my brother, she found out she was allergic to everything else I listed above (she never was before). I feel for her. |

dust... everytime i do a lot of cleaning i cant stop sneezing for the next couple of days.. guess i should tell this to my future husband ;) |

That's what I am trying to do. I am allergic to Penicillin. I have to be careful of some strong cheeses, because they have a derivitive, of penicillin in them. Also certain "cleaners" for the bathroom the really strong smelling ones, will give me a headache and leave me stuffed up for days, even if I leave the window open. I'm allergic to Naproxen and occasionally I'm lactose intollerant (it's quite weird. Sometimes it's perfectly fine, and other times it's bad!) |
Tomatoes, wool and if I ever have penicillian, I have to ask for an anti-fungal:eek: - guess "cillian's" give me funguses - or fungi:D. All I know is, if I don't take one I get the itchy's super bad and there's no amount of scratching that will stop them, lol. I get a yeast infection that goes into a bladder infection and works it's way up to my kidneys if I don't. And stirred-up dust makes me sneeze non-stop. |

I have to tell you my daughter (17) is allergic to cortisone shots. She had a cortisone shot in January in her knee during orthoscopic surgery. Well she had an allergic reaction to it and it completely ate away the fat pocket under her knee next to her shin. It actually looked like you took an ice cream scoop and scooped out the skin. Just 3 weeks ago she had major reconstructive surgery where they took part of her calf and put it into the area, she was in the hospital for 7 days. She now has a skin graft from her hip along with a 9" scar going down the front of her leg. All from a cortisone shot. Can't believe it. She is a soccer player and she completely tore her ACL during a game. She had ACL reconstructive surgery in May '07 and in Jan. she was going in for orthoscopic surgery to remove some built up scar tissue to help with her range of motion. She mentioned to the surgeon just before surgery that her scar was very sensitive so he said he could give her a cortisone shot to help make the scar not so sensitive. I am sensitive to tetracyclines. I have 2 DS's with life threatening allergies to peanuts, all tree nuts, sunflower seeds, chick peas, lentils & annatto. :eek:1 of my boys is also sensitive to pepper. |
I am allergic to something...I just can't remember the name of it :rolleyes: I know it's a pain killer of some kind...Oh well it's on my doctor chart so I guess all is well....unless I go to another doctor.... ?? hummm, I guess I better call and find out the name of it . |
I am allergic to dairy products, shell fish, Dilantin( a seizure med) Iodine, lucky me I was getting a test done and they use Iodine and shoot it in the IV and I had a reaction, ended up having to be admitted for 2 day's! ever green trees, especially Pine, Cat's and dog dander, cleaning products Dust mites soaps and shampoos,And I have seasonal allergies. Also I a have broken out in hives after drinking Tequila mixed drinks:confused: so I stay away from that! My son Kennedy has allergies to all dairy, soy protein, pea nuts( just the smell sets him off! and he needs an epie shot!) and tree nuts, lagoons ( beans) shell fish, penicillins and Sulfa drugs. He also has Celiac disease so he can't have wheat and other grains too. My husband is allergic to bee, wasp, hornets, tree nuts, and cleaning products. My other 3 sons do not have any allergies! |
