I am VERY allergic to ants, mostly red ants. I once went to the park and got home to find my who leg looking like a balloon, my skin forms about a 4 inch lump where a red ant bites me and I get a rash throughout my body. Not fun :( |
So far, nothing that I know of! |
I say I am allergic to NOTHING! But I have had food poisioning more than I care to mention after eating Clams... So I say I'm allergic to them. Everyone asks me then if I'm allergic to shrimp, I say hell no...! I love Shrimp. It's just CLAMS. So I guess I have no shellfish allergy, .. just the dang clams. So I avoid them at all costs. Too many days spent clinging to the Porcealine Throne for eating those guys. |
I'm allergic to cats, dogs, roaches, rats, grass, trees, weeds, and dust. |
Let's see.... I'm allergic to cats and only found this out after volunteering at the SPCA playing with the cats. My throat closed up and my nose was runny, it was awful!! I can't hand dust very well, but I handle it better than my brothers and my boyfriend. After my boyfriends cleans his room at home he's bed ridden for days. I just sneeze a lot. I also can't handle strong scents like perfumes or body sprays, especially from Victoria Secret. To think I was a vendor for Calvin Klein perfume..... at least the money was good. :) |
I have a wheat/gluten allergy. I won't get tested for celiac because you have to eat wheat for them to test you. And I get sick for days if I eat it. Not worth it since the only way to control celiac is to not eat wheat. So, either way...Im not going to eat it. Also, I have a low tolerance for dairy. I can have up to one serving a day. I supplement with soy. |
I'm allergic to general anesthesia!! 1 in 30,000 people have this allergy. lucky me!! Want to guess how I found out? :aimeeyorkCOCO :aimeeyorkPEBBLES :aimeeyorkTRIXIE |

I am allergic to mosquito saliva. Weird right? I mean most people are a little allergic and get bites, I get welts. Like large palm sized bumps that itch continuously and swell and hurt. That's all. |
A slew of medications-mostly painkillers, canadian bacon, cheese popcorn (only the orange colored stuff for some reason), smoked fish other than smoked salmon...and now after not eating beef, pork or turkey for almost 15 years, I can't digest them and it's considered an allergy as my body does not have the enzymes to break down those proteins. |
I remember as a kid my mom made a shrimp salad, I got so sick that my mom told the babysitter to take me to the er:rolleyes:, but for some reason I most grow up out of it because I eat it all the time now, I love shrimps:rolleyes::D p.s. I'm allergic to rude people:D that for sure;) |
When I was younger, I was diagnosed with being allergic to a TON of things including chocolate, tomato, pet dander, mites, and about several types of trees. That never stopped me though. :p |
Wow this is a long thread. I was surprised at how many people have these kind of afflictions. I thought I had enough for everybody! And it sounds like 1 or 2 of you have it worse than I do! I'm allergic to: shellfish (which is actually an iodine allergy. Found that out when I was getting a red tattoo. The ink has the same component in it) lillies, most any other fragrant or pollinated flower (found that out on a date) nickel (found that out when I got my ears pierced when I was 7) sulfa drugs artificial scents, mainly vanilla and cinnamon dogs & cats cedar trees hay/summer dust I lead a miserable, sniffly, short breathed, itchy life. I serve shrimp, lobster, clam, crawfish, and crab at my job, plus all sorts of fish that I just don't like. And I work at a steakhouse! My skin breaks out at least 4 nights a week, sometimes even on my face if I'm not careful! AND I used to sing in a 40 person choir and when you stand 5 inches from your neighbor for an hour a day, one person's cologne or perfume can make me dizzy. Our director ended up putting it in his syllabus by my second year in his choir. I can't tell you how many times I had to move away from people because of the strength of their artificial fragrances. Blech! Sometimes I don't even want to wait on tables if someone there is wearing heavy perfume! I am totally sticking to this thread! Makes me feel better about my afflictions! |

Any gluten free people want to trade recipes? PM me :D |
Highly allergic to dust and pollen...probably grass too although it didn't show up on my allergy testing...but when I even step into grass my whole foot and leg breaks out. I cannot vacumm or dust...I feel like I can't breathe and my nose gets extremely stopped up and I start sneezing like crazy. Just thinking about it makes me itch... Antibiotics, mostly sulfur drugs but also developed some to others recently too. Something in Chinese food...doctors used to think it was MSG but now not so sure. I can't eat the stuff at all without getting terribly ill. Lactose intolerant but I eat ice cream anyways because I can't stand not to have it and it's like the best food ever...lol...I can eat yogurt and cheese ok but not in large amounts, and milk just kills me...I won't even describe to you what happens... Dogs and Cats, but I LOOOOVVVVEEEEE my kitty and she will never ever leave, even though whenever I hold her my face breaks out and I start sneezing like crazy...she is still my baby and I deal with it. :D And of course the yorkies with their hair...yay!! =) And almost all types of soap and soap-based body washes. I break out so bad that my skin starts to crack and bleed and feels like it's on fire if I use regular soap. It's terrible...=( |
whoops didn't post in the first for some reason... I had an allergist for many years, haven't been to him for about 1 year now or so...but I used to have terrible asthma as a kid and he thinks it set off all these allergies and that there's a good chance I will develop more as time goes on. I am off and on with all kinds of food allergies, lots of things that I eat make my stomach hurt so bad that I feel like I'm dying...I had tons and tons of tests done and it all came back to the allergies. I feel all of your pain, I hate being itchy and feeling yucky all the time!!! |

He actually had to be on a medical prescribed baby formula called Vivonex Pediatric. He was 2 weeks old when they started switching his formula, at 4 weeks old he was so dehydrated and had a blood infection:eek: they sent him to Rainbow Babies. He was seen by Ped GI, he put him on the Medical food, but he had to be tube feed by then.Kennedy kept getting sick with Super Infections and was in the hospital all the time! They had to do a surgery on Kennedy to stop him from vomiting, it's called a Nissin Fundiplaction, they placed a micky tube at that time. 24 hours latter, he had a hospital infection called Serratia in his blood, that tipped off Ped Immunologist to run test and they found whey he got infections all the time, he had an Immune defect that could be treated with Gamma globulin, so Finally he stoped getting so sick and got to come home, he was 9 months old by then!! Because of being tube feed, it took a while for Kennedy to eat by mouth, when he did, he had reactions to food, so more test were ran and he was found not only to have the dairy and soy allergies, but Celiac too. We have worked with a nutritionist on his special diet for the past 14 years! He calls his food's the "healthy" foods;) He loves Vegies and fruit!! I guess it doesn't bother him about all the stuff he can't have because he doesn't ever remember being able to eat some foods beings he was under 2 years old. We just alway's make things that he can have, like we use rice flour and rice milk, they even have rice dream Ice cream and Sorbet. His nutritionists have all ben wonderful with ideas of things to use in place of the things he can't have! |

My allergy is crazy. Im allergic to lentils. I had no idea until 2 years ago when a friend made a vegetarian chili and brought it to an xmas party. I ate all kinds of stuff that night but kept going back for more chili it was sooo good. The next morning I woke up itchy, then I started swelling up around my middle, by the next morning my eyes had swollen almost shut and I couldn't wear pants because my middle was soo swollen. Went to the docs and it was a food allergy. Still no idea what. Fast forward to almost a year later, I bought lentil soup at the food store, 2 small bags in 1 box. I got the same reaction yet not as severe because I ate way less. So I stay away from lentil soup now. I am pretty sure that is what Im allergic to! |
