Its got rubberbands to help them stay in when you start, Wax, a no residue shampoo, a metal comb to backcomb them, and "accelerator" I don't know exactly what that is though...haha.

Oh I can't wait to see the pictures! I think they look so cute on the right personality and really anyone who wants them probably has the personality to carry them off. I didn't know about the washing- that's the only thing I never liked about them- I thought you couldn't really wash them much. Now I'll think they're even cuter knowing that they're clean.

So..I did it! Took me three days of backcombing since I did it by myself. I love them! we'll see how they mature in the next little bit but day one is good to go. and here are your pictures. 2 before. 2 after. I'll try to con my husband into taking a better picture of them later. tis tricky on my own. haha. excuse my happy little chipmunk cheeks

Looks good! A friend of mine started hers several months ago and absolutely loves them. Oh, she uses lavender essential oil on her scalp - she says it helps to keep it from itching

I LOVE dreadlocks!! Always have. Can't wait to see how yours progress!

The first time I saw them was as a kid - it was a blond women (like a cool, dirty blond color) at the mall, and she had them down to her waist. SO COOL!

Thanks for the tip! Not to sound dirty, but I didn't brush my hair before (never had the need) so I'm hoping that the itching won't be as bad as I've heard it can be.

Ok... I gots questions again. when they grow, isn't it straight by the scalp then? What do you do then, redo each one as they grow? or backcomb the roots as they grow?

I'm guessing the roots dread themselves since they can't be brushed. That's what happens if you leave extentions in too long.

you are correct! unless your hair is like stick strsight with absolutely no texture, your hair does most of the work itself and all you have to do is help it along. You just palm roll them like making a playdoh log to keep them rounded and rub the end next to your head in a clockwise motion to help the roots dread themselves

Good job! Gotta say though.... I didn't like dreads much UNTIL Jason Castro was on American Idol. I started out keeping an eye on him since he was an A&M student (and I work on campus) but then fell in love with his looks AND most of all, his voice. I just think he's such a cutie - a little "pretty" even - that the dreads help balance it all out for him. I especially love it when he pulls the sides back. You have a long way to go before yours are as long as his but you're on the right track. Good luck!

Not gonna lie i've never seen american idol so i have no idea what he looks like and will now have to google him.

mine are just baby dreads...they like to unravel still.

He's 21 or 22 now and said he started them when he was maybe 18.... can't remember the details but he did have baby dreads at one time. I think he looks hot with them and because of him, I've kinda changed my mind regarding dreadlocks in general. I do have to say though that they can look very good or very bad. You have to do everything right that they say to do in order for them to look good. One interviewer asked him about his dreads once regarding washing them. Said he had heard that you don't wash your hair very often when you have dreadlocks. Jason, the cutie that he is, said "nah... I wash my hair every couple days or so. I like to smell GOOD!". LOL
