Sorry If I Offended Anyone Hi Everyone.. I don't know what to say. I guess I just didn't stop to think that many people do not celebrate Halloween. If I have offended anyone by sending them Halloween Graphics or Pictures..... please forgive me. I would never do anything to thoughtlessly hurt anyone's feelings. So, If I goof up and send something to anyone who does not celebrate that holiday, please feel free to delete it.. and accept my apology. I am so sorry. Bobbi |
Oh Bobby, you are so sweet. You certainly didn't offend me. (Have you seen my user profile?) I'm sure those who don't celebrate will be happy to delete them and move on...I can't imagine anyone actually being angry. |
No, this person was not angry.. they just kindly asked me not to send them anymore. But I got to wondering if there were other people who did not like them. So I thought it may be a good thing to tell everyone I would not be offended if they deleted them. And thank you... for your nice comment. |
Bobbie, I would never think you sent something with ill intentions.....Sometimes things like this will happen, we are such a diverse group on here that it's unavoidable at times to over look differences in life styles and beliefs.....I hope if someone did receive anything it was not to their liking they just deleted it .....:) |
That is so sweet of you to post this. I can't imagine you offended anyone. For example, since I'm not jewish I don't celebrate Rosh Hashanah but if someone sent me a Happy Rosh Hashanah message I would just be happy that they thought about me at all and since that would tell me that they probably are observing Rosh Hashanah, I would send them a happy Rosh Hashanah message right back.:) For the record, I love Halloween so consider this an open invitation to my profile.;):p |
I remember one time visiting one of my adoptive families around Halloween and asked one of their daughters (about age 5) what she planned to be for the holiday. She pointedly told me that "Halloween is the devil's holiday", and I immediately felt stupid.:( I am really careful now, but I totally love Halloween, and I forget that there are people who don''t. |

Bobbi! I LOVE getting your messages!! Please don't stop!!! You are always so kind...if someone is offended, there is that little delete button and viola, it's gone. don't you worry about it!! |
Now, I'm offended! but because you haven't sent me anything halloweenish!!:D I always enjoy your messages and although I hardly reply to them it is a joy and it makes my day a lot of times. I celebrate all the regular holidays(no religious issues here):D so, don't be afraid to send me anything because if you don't I will be offended!:D JK. |
We don't celebrate halloween, although we have a fall festival at church where the kids dress up and all that. I am not offended if someone says something to me about halloween. I understand that people celebrate it, and most all do it in good fun and just because I feel conviction on it, doesn't mean that people that celebrate it our bad people. Also, I HATE it that anything religious about any holiday (christmas, easter, etc) cannot be mentioned in schools or anything like that because it might offend someone, so I would be just as bad to get mad about the same type thing. The only time I would be offended is if someone knew how I felt about the morbid/occultic aspect of it, and deliberately send me something with the intention of trying to get my goat. That is very nice of you to apologize to anyone you may have offended. I know I personally would not have been offended by it. This coming from someone who doesn't celebrate Halloween. |
Personally I love all the Holidays even Halloween though it's not about the devil with me. :p I'm not Jewish, Jehovah's Witness or any other religion that doesn't recognize or celebrate the same holidays I do, but I respect their beliefs and hopefully they mine. So if I send anything regarding a holiday I observe, it's because I don't know your belief so please take no offense. We get people knocking on our door all the time who want to spread their teachings, but I take no offense. I hope the reception will be the same in any posts of others who have different celebrations. |
Bobbi, you are SO kind hearted! I've gotten messages from you here and elsewhere, and I LOVE it! I always think of Halloween as being for children. There's nothing more cute than seeing little kids dressed up for trick or treating. You can send your messages to me anytime! I enjoy it. |
Halloween is our FAVORITE!!!! We love your comments and look forward to them, so please keep 'em comin!!!! :) |
I feel the same way everyone else does, if you don't like it, delete it! The only thing I don't like about Halloween is the safety issue. There are a lot of weirdos out there, and I want everyones skin and furkids to be safe. I like the idea of a fall festival. When we were kids, we only trick or treated around my Grandmother's cul-de-sac, but she bought us tons of candy and inspected it before we ate it. I come from a small town and the elementary kids had a "parade" where they walked us around the block to show off our costumes. A pet peeve I have is when people spell Christmas "X-Mas". Why celebrate this Holiday, or expect people to buy from you when you won't recognize the meaning of the Holiday? It is NOT about sales, gifts, or a big meal! |
I just want to be clear that Halloween is not a religious holiday, and people who enjoy it are not involved in the occult. |

My cousin is born on halloween and we used to live in this little itty bitty "christian" town. Some children were actually not allowed to play with him because he was born on the "devil's day" and he was a "spawn of satan" and all that. |

I can't believe that anyone could be offended. I am sorry that happened to you. |
Bobbi, I don't think you should feel bad at all. Many people DO celebrate Halloween, and though a few don't, I bet you made all the people that DO very happy. :) and if someone wished me a happy holiday that I don't celebrate, I'd be thankful that they thought of me at all. You are one of the sweetest people on here! I've noticed that the ones who don't really need to apologize are the ones that usually do. ;) Hugs! Megan and as a side note, it really irritates me when you aren't allowed to wish someone a Happy ____ or you can't say the word "Christmas" without an "X" because you might offend people. How about the people that DO celebrate that holiday or who DO take offense to the "X?" Why is the general public only concerned about hurting the feelings of the minorities? |

I think perhaps that should be worded to say that most people do not celebrate it as a religious holiday and not all people that celebrate it are involved in the occult. I have several celtic wiccan relatives as well just know some down right scarey people that celebrate it as a religious holiday and view it and celebrate it as an occultic holiday. The Celtic Irish actually observed this day as a holiday before the Catholic church delcared it All Hallows day. Here is more about it at this link.Click Here Like I said, I do not take offense to someone sending me a halloween greeting or saying happy halloween. My kids dress up and have fun at our church thing, and we arent judgemental toward others that are out having fun with it. |
Grandma Bobbi I don't celebrate Halloween but you did not offend me at all. No way so keep on posting! ((hugs)0 |

Bobbi - I LOVE everything you send. Know why? Because you send it with genuine love for each and every one of us. You have made my day countless times with an uplifting message in my messages. PLEASE don't stop! To be honest - I am not the biggest fan of Halloween either. The devils and witches, etc. make me a little nervous. But I truly believe that 95% + of the people are not celebrating anything evil - they are just having fun with their friends and family. And I suppose it makes me a pretty big hypocrit that I already have Roxy's costume all ready for our get together next weekend!! You are one of the kindest hearted and least offensive people I have ever met. I respect that someone politely asked you to not include them in Halloween postings. I know that it is not easy to stand up when you are in the minority. But please keep me included in ALL of your postings - you really are a blessing in my life! Can't wait to see you Saturday! Give Sandy and TJ extra hugs from us! Love ya! DeLisa and Roxy |
