Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | AFTERMATH of Hurricane Yikes FOR those who are worried about friends and family in Galveston/Houston areas (and LA too) who I'm sure lost power - TODAY is the day after - it's POURING RAIN and this is the status on Electricity so IF you are trying to reach anyone - (there is no cell service that I know of) and this is the amount of people with NO POWER Outage and Restoration Updates Information as of Sept. 13, 2008, 7 p.m. CST Total number of customers: 2.26 million Total customers restored: 112,000 Total customers with power: 270,000 (12 percent of total customers) Total customers without power: 1.99 million (88 percent of total customers) I'm a speck in the 12% who HAVE power and don't know why - I'm just 15 minutes from downtown - Man I feel so guilty Keep trying to reach those family and friends - I'm trying but so far... no one I know has power - My heart goes out to all who lost homes. This is really a disaster here in Texas. |

| I'm so glad you're ok, V - I worried about you and all the rest of those getting hit. Did you receive any damage?

| I'm glad you are okay, V! With so many people without power, it may be a day or two until we hear from many of our Texas members, so for now, I'll light a candle and hope they are well.

| My friend lives in Houston on Secretariat Lane. I have no idea if she and her DH are ok or not. I am praying for everyone in Texas who has been affected by this storm.

| I have been thinking of all our Texas members lately. V don't feel guilty, you can't help that you still have power. I hope that as soon as they can everyone will check in and tell us they are ok.

| V thanks for the post. Is there any word yet on when electricity might start back? I know it can take so long. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any news and my thoughts are with our Texas members.

| V, I'm so glad you and the girls are ok AND that you have power. I haven't been on much because things have been so busy but I was thinking about all the YT members who live in Texas during the last few days. I hope everyone is ok. I can't even imagine going through all of that.

| I heard on the news here that the electric company (a NYC station so I guess Con Edison) is sending a hundred utility trucks with workers down to Texas to help repair lines. They said that they expected it to take them 4 days to get there and that it would be weeks before they could get lines back up. Hopefully there are people closer that have the resources to come help. I can't even begin to imagine. Do you have enough water, food, etc. to get you through V? Hugs & prayers
