| Hi, there dear lady. So glad you wrote on YT so we can hear how you are and have the opportunity to be the angels that you need to hold you up when you are down. Please let us know if you take the yters offer to stay at her home, that was so very nice of her, please PM me and let me know how I can send you something. God be with you, so many are praying for God to send Angels to help you along your way back home, and keep your kids safe. I was so happy to hear that you have already met an angel of God, the vet that checked out your furbabies. See? He is with you. Huuuugss ((()))) Annie

| As are all families caught unawares during this Hurricane season. Please know that you got your kids and furbabies and yourself to safety. That is all that really counts in this world. If your house was damaged you can rebuild. Reading your post I can tell you are a very strong person. You have more strength than you think. God Bless you and your family... Baron and his Mom

| No Longer a Member | To Hartygirl..what a sweet gesture. We are set up here at the hotel and they are being very good to us. Thank you so much for the offer! A friend I work with called on the cell last night to check on us. She said the city had partial power, she is on generator. I gave her my address and she said she would try to get over there and check on the house for me! Maybe it won't be long before we can go home, fingers crossed. I will feel better when our vet can check the poobutts out. Sure is hard to wrangle them to go potty outside the hotel, they're not used to strange people, I'm guessing they'll get use to it . Ever notice the smaller your place, the harder to keep clean? This is one room. I don't let the cleaning ladies in because the dogs go crazy so I just hand them towels and such thru the door.Have a great day friends. I'm hoping in the next few days we can go home . |

| Denise, You remain in our thoughts and prayers but i know you need some help right now. Please contact some churches where you are...i know they would be willing to help out! Our church has been offering free meals as well as many other churches in our area and i bet they are offering similar there for all those that have been displaced. The refugees are all over the state in motels so please don't be bashfull about checking out your area. I wonder if Judy from Waco would be able to tell us where some are that are close to your motel?? I'll PM her. HUGS Denise!! Hang in there!! ![]() XOXOXOXO |

When we thought Ike was going to hit Corpus Christi directly it was chaos around here, and since we had no storm there are a lot of people here right now from your area. I am praying that you return to find your home as you left it and this will all be a memory! Please let us know if there is anything you need.

| No Longer a Member | Still no lights but my house is still there. The porch swing is hanging in toothpicks from the chains. I lost a couple of pillars on the front porch, and some eaves or soffit hanging around the roof. She said it look like the house is sitting kind of crooked on the piers it iis sitting on. The porch was kind of iffy anyway from Humberto dropping my oak tree on it..that's all I know right now. Don'y know about the inside. Soon as the lights come on I will get to go home and check things out. I'm SO relieved..it's still there! |

| OMG! I'm just now seeing this thread. My internet has been down. The Church of the Open Door has food for Ike evacuees and I can find you other things right now. My number is 254-498-0573. I don't care if it's on the internet, just call me.

| You are all such wonderful people . I just got back from northern illinois where my Uncle lives. I helped him out this weekend as much as I could. His entire basement flooded. Mind you, this is a finished basement with bedrooms and such. The carpent and drywall is rotton and smells awful. I feel so bad for him. We just lost my Aunt Dee last saturday to cancer, and now this. ugh.. I helped him out as much as I could, but my son is allergic to mold and got really sick from the dampness so we had to leave early. Im going back in two weeks, when (hopefully) everything is dried out so we can take up carpet and stuff. I feel so lucky. I can't imagine this kind of devastation on a larger scale. I guess it would seem kind of unreal unless it was happening to you. I live in southern Illinois, and for some reason we only got 1/2 inch of rain and some moderate winds. I will keep you in my thoughts, and pray that you get to go home soon. I can only imagine how lost you must feel right now. Take care, Heather
