Bama...does southwest fly out of your airport? You won't see their fares on any of the discount travel sites. You need to visit their website. Here southwest generally beats all the other prices.

Forgot to add...another tip. Should you not be able to reserve seats together...once you are on the plane....ASK someone to switch seats. DD and I have done that several times...no problem.

That is good to know. They do fly out of our airport. I checked their site and their flighT (only one showing) for the desired dates is 81/per ticket more than American and Continental. But I will keep checking them.

We just purchased tickets to North Carolina the other day for x-mas time. We have been watching for a while now and a few months ago it was $850-950 a ticket, it went down a bit, and we purchased Sunday for $700 a ticket (absolutely ridiculous). Since we have to be there on a certain day, we went ahead and booked. Went through travelocity or expedia (we always book through these sites and always get to choose seats). Careful w/ Southwest, you don't get assigned seats, it is first come, first serve in order of check-in.

Seats are assigned when you check in. We've never not gotten seats together.

I'm thinking maybe I should just hurry and try to buy while they are only $200 w/ American and Continental. I don't want to wait around and them go up again. That is way less than what I was expecting to pay...I was prepared for around 900-1000 total.
