HAHA I'm ON THE NEWS right now !
 
I'm SO PROUD OF OUR LOCAL NBC NEWS STATION !!!

I'm really stressed this morning with this monster hurricane Yikes... and up too early - so I decided to write the local stations about our pets.

I emailed our Local NBC Station with a plea for them to KEEP REMINDING PEOPLE to take their inside AND outside pets with them during Hurricane Yikes - not to leave them in doghouses or tied to trees - and they read my email WORD For WORD on the news just now - :D:D:D

and of course announced my name wrong (last name - the easy one lol):)

They did a 2 minute segment about my email !!! I feel so good -

the end of the segment they said ..."She (Villette) wanted us to know she isn't a fanatic - just a pet lover'" LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

Ah - Channel 2 KPRC - I actually AM a fanatic lolol

GOOD FOR CHANNEL 12 KPRC NEWS ~! I think they're going to keep repeating this (I asked them to)

on a good note - I'm so proud of our new stations here in Houston - this is the 2nd great experience I've had with them - 1st with FOX News & the Brushy Creek Kennels story that took place right on this site.

and now NBC - it only took them 10 minutes to get my email on the news :thumbup: and I can imagine they swamped with emails during this hurricane so it really surprised me.

We have alot of petlovers in our newscasters I think :thumbup:

LOL - more like TWO :rolleyes::rolleyes:

but I was so glad they did it. I asked them to keep doing little reminders in the continuing coverage and hope they do.

:love-hug3 Thanks guys...I just can't think about anyone tying up pets while sheltering in place.... or leaving them if they evacuate - especially their outside pets.....

This is scary enough for us humans to go thru and our little furry friends are at OUR mercy.

and don't be proud of me - be proud of the news stations that actually READ their emails and put it out there - - they really do care.

Way to go, V, I bet you will be personally responsible for saving the lives of hundreds (no thousands) of beloved pets.

We often think of things that we should do - you know we have good intentions -- but you, my dear, should be placed recognized as one of those DOERS - who take the time to get involved......

...which brings to mind an incident that happened many years ago involving some Super serious spying on the neighbors which included climbing trees and taking photos. And you always called your girls the SpyGirls - it was really Villette, Super Sleuth! :D

OMG V good thinking. I can't imagine anyone leaving their dog or cat's
outside during severe weather but your right, their are people who just
don't think or don't care. I can't even imagine the outcome if they
don't listen to your advise.
Good for your radio station. That's awsome they care so much.

Everyone is glued to Channel 2 here because they're doing continuous coverage -

I didn't think they'd actually READ my email and say my name but they did and added lots of comments themselves - I'm just hoping they keep repeating it here and there -

The latest is the water is breaking OVER the Galveston Seawall - and Yikes isn't even close to us ...yet.

Way to go girl!! There were so many pets lives destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. It was very sad. Many people had left their pets inside not thinking or even aware of it possibly flooding as it did. (or not even being able to go home for days and days). This was very tragic. Glad to know your influence has put it out to the public. Thanks NBC!! They need to be aware that anything is possible during a hurricane. Prayers to you and your family, neighbors, etc. Wishing you the best!! :animal36

That's so good, im glad you emailed them V. I am always thinking about the pets in times like this, im glad you reminded them. I feel bad for all those dogs left outside

...and I hope that everyone takes your words to heart....PLEASE do NOT leave your beloved animals behind!!! -- they have no choice but to do what you have them do -- how can anyone look into those loving eyes and walk away not knowing what may happen?? It is heart breaking!!! :*(

My friend just returned home from helping the animals w/ Gustav (he works w/ the USDA) and thankfully said that there were no major problems. He is in TX now, evacuating a zoo.

I thank him (and his wife) every chance I can for having (and loving) such a selfless job. He truly cares about the animals and I wish more would follow in his ...(and your) steps. :love-hug1

Keep safe...and you all will be in our thoughts and prayers!
