Wooo Hoo! Good job Girl!;) |
Great job Villette, I am sure you saved quite a few pets by doing what you did!!:thumbs up |
V your YT family is so proud of you..you go girl!:thumbup::thumbup: I couldn't even imagine leaving my pets behind I guess I/we just don't think like some of these people who don't even give it a second thought about leaving their pets behind.:(:(:( Praying for you all in the path of Ike.:animal-pa |
Thank you for giving them that message. There was a real bad flood in Indiana this year and that is how my cousin lost both of her babies! :( Thanks for caring! :) |
Wow good for you I am glad the news read your email now hopefully the people will remember I couldn't imagine forhetting mine but some people.... Prayers to all you in Texas. |
Thats so awesome. I'm glad that got the message out there. Some people don't even think about that (don't know how they could do this, but do). Also...you guys are in my thoughts and prayers! Stay safe!! |
I'm watching live stream online i hope they show it! |
Way to go V!!!!! You have such a caring heart! Never underestimate the power of words! Thanks to you so many little furry friends will be thought of and saved! I am going to try to catch you on the news if I can! You know that Corpus Christi is only a few hours away from Houston and you are more than welcome here, any in Htown for that matter, we can find places for you! We are not even expecting rain and only 20-30mph winds, so God willing we will be safe! Don't stay and regret it! Just get out and survive. |
Good for you and I am so glad the station just didn't ignore your e-mail. Its a shame some people don't care enough about their pets that they have to be reminded to do the right thing. Hopefully, thanks to you, alot of pets lives will be spared. |
that's awesome V!!!!!!! great job on sending them that info! |
That is so great of you!!! Hopefully many people heard and will take your msg. seriously! |

Great job, Villette! Way to go! You can be sure that many pets will be saved because of your warning! Your heart is always in the right place! May God keep you and your Babies safe! |
The last time V posted was at 10.50 something, I wonder if she is away, or they lost power already  |
Excellent, V!!! We're all so proud of you and you should know you did a good thing. Some people just don't think clearly in times of crisis; they think it's too much trouble to take their pets b/c they don't know where they'll be going and in their minds, they make it so the pet will somehow be able to fend for themselves~ unless you've been thru something like this before, you just don't have a clue how completely devastating it could be and that the animals are absolutely and completely helpless and are dependent on their owners to watch over them and keep them safe. I don't think there can be too many reminders to people that they HAVE to provide for their pets no matter what size they are or what they're used to. They are NOT used to huge natural disasters and sometimes it just takes people saying it over and over. Good for you!!!!:thumbup::thumbup: |
Thanks you guys - you're embarrassing me ~ I was working on boarding up my windows with tape and trying to get my apartment ready for for Yike...I mean IKE. sorry - I'm a nervous wreck I think I have to email the AFTERNOON TV News Crew now cause I have it on.... and no mention of pets..... there really are too many people that don't give a thought to their pets that stay outside ....it breaks my heart knowing many will be left behind. They have a phrase from the last huge hurricane - "Katrina Dogs"....meaning those left behind - I do NOT want to hear about "Houston Dogs" (and cats) on the news. PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR AREA - Galveston / Freeport is already flooded and the storm is hours and hours away - I'm so worried about all of us that are 'sheltering in place' now ..It didn't seem Houston was going to be in so much trouble as of last night - today it's a totally different story. Also ....I just heard there's a boat in the gulf with NO power ...22 crew members right in the line of Ike - they can't even go out to help them because the danger is too much for the rescuers. Those poor men :( |
Bravo Villette . |
Great to get the news out, prayers for everyone in Texas! |

OMG excuse me! TV the lady say's. Whaoooooo you go girl. Nothing like going to the top. That's better yet. That's wonderful they took your e-mail so seriously. I hope all that hear it do as well. I just pray that everyone in Yikes path is safe when it passes. |
Sending prayers for your safety from KY. |
Also ....I just heard there's a boat in the gulf with NO power ...22 crew members right in the line of Ike - they can't even go out to help them because the danger is too much for the rescuers. Those poor men __________________ OMG how terrible. I will pray for them. I can't imagine the horror they have ahead of them. Their poor familes too. Oh heavens! |
I can't either Carol - how scary for them out in the gulf all alone with no power. I'm hoping they can do some kind of air rescue. BUT - I did email the afternoon crew and just heard back from Jerome Grey of KPRC Channel 2 Houston....he's going to bring up the pets too!! (and may I mention... HE. IS. HOT.) I love this station - it's one of the top 3 in the city and the most watched I believe. |
Yeah, Villette!! There you are!!! Also glad to hear you & your good advice got on the news. Hurricane Yikes.. I love it. :D Everyones animals should be top priority, because they are family. I grew up on the Tejas coast, so I'm watching this all unfold on "The Weather Channel" up here in the PacNW as I type. So you didn't have to evacuate? You'll make it sista, hope you have lots of fun snacks too to make it thru (like when I was a kid, Marshmallows were always on top of the list cuz I could still roast them on the gas range when the electricity went out. I made a "camping trip atmosphere" out of it all.) |
This is what worries me:( How could people leave their dogs like that Amid Dire Warnings, Ike Draws Closer |

On The Weather Channel just now I saw a clip about making sure to bring your pets food, water, carriers, etc,... I guess we all here on YT are so pet conscious, that just goes without saying. They're #1 in our minds right along with babies & children. |

Of course people shouldn't leave their animals....but... speaking from someone who's ridden out several hurricanes or their aftermath...the biggest problem is public shelters do not allow you to take your pets. The shelters opened by our city....are in schools or other public buildings and you can not take ANY animal. :( It's a liability issue... My recourse is, of course, to evacuate to someone's home inland or a motel room...but obviously many many people who don't have those options. |

You all stay safe in Houston, V, and hang on to your girls! |
