| What?! I was changing my clothes and my husband was like "What is that?" He saw a spot on my lower back. I turn to look at it and I have no idea what it is and it's got me concerned. In the center it's a bump like a pimple, but the tip is BRIGHT red like it has been bleeding. All around the bump is a dark purple-ish red bruise like color. The spot is about the size of the end of a AA battery. Anyone have any idea what this is?

| Finding weird marks on our bodies is always unnerving! Hmmm ... does it itch, hurt, etc? From your description it sounds like some kind of bite ... spider maybe? If the area worsens, I'd have it checked out by a doc. |

| It doesn't hurt, itch, or anything. I tried taking a picture of it, but they didn't turn out very well.

| Hmm...I hope it is nothing serious. A spider bite was my first thought too. How about maybe an ingrown hair?

| Don't ingrown hairs usually hurt kinda? And I don't think it would make this dark bruise like circle around it... I don't think...

| Spider bite is my thought, too. Sometimes they can leave awful bruises around them. Or a boil, but I don't think they bleed. Put neosporin or some other antibiotic creme on it. If you have any cow-salve(can't think of the real name) use that - it's great for drawing out any kind of infection or poison. It's made by Raleigh(sp?) and comes in a small yellow round tin container. Looks like vasoline, but thicker. Bag balm works good, too. Prayers it clears up soon.

| spider bite would be might first guess. Next would be a tick bite. But they usually manifest in a "bullseye mark". I would still see a doctor. I had gotten bit by a spider on my finger once and had a reaction, it swelled up that I could make a tight fist. Good luck.

| I know my cousin got bit by a spider once and it paralyzed him from the neck down until he got some shots of antibiotics in him.

| It could be a tick bite and that might be very serious. I had one on my leg once and it looked like what you described and the red blueish ring got bigger and bigger and I finally had to go to the doc and undergo a serious of shots. A distant relative of mine had symptons of MS for 2 years and had to use a wheel chair until they finally figured out that the cause was a tick bite... |

| It might be a small spider Bit. My mother had one last time I visit her and it look like what you just described. She got kind of cream from the doctor and it when away in a few days |

| Perhaps you were abducted by aliens and they operated on you? (Sorry I've been watching too much Roswell lately) |

| I'm glad you're going to the doctor to find out what's going on! I wouldn't want to mess around with possible tick or spider bites either. Good luck and keep us posted!

| I'm glad to hear that you're going to the doctor. I think that is probably a very good idea, it'll at least put your mind at ease. Hope the appointment goes well for you!
