| ![]() I have a trilliant lil over 1 ct. I would strongly suggest going to a reputable jeweler and picking your stone seperate from the setting. You can see the stone more clearly when it is loose. Also dont buy from a jewelry store in the mall such as lundstrom or marks bro. etc. I used to work in a mall jewelry store and i have to tell you the quality is not so good and the mark up is just crazy. In illinois we have a building called jewelers row where its just all jewelers and its great cause when i went looking for mine i was able to compare and look at different settings. In fact many jewelers out here get thier stones from there. I know many cities have the same type of area where its similar. I had so much fun when picking out my ring. My husband let me pick the stone then he picked the setting from ones he knew i liked so this way there was still a lil element of suprise lol. Good luck in your search and trust me you will know which one is for you when you see it. ![]() |

I went to walmart.com you can design your own ring there they send you a certificate of autheniticy(?) you can pick your own clarity the size and shape and white or yellow gold. I've had mine for a year 1/2 and I get so many compliments on it. It's just a thought. Sheila | |

| ![]() The wedding band interlocks withthe engagement ring and has 3 baguettes...........I love baguettes. Hubby knew he wanted to give me a pear shaped diamond and I knew I wanted baguettes! I like the fact that a pear shaped engagement ring is very uncommong...least I have never came across anyone w/one. I am looking for a new wedding set for our 10yr anniversary(got 3 yrs to go but never too early to start looking). All I know if I want some big and that can blind one from across the room! | ![]() Be careful what you wish for!!! When my husband proposed I got a solitaire, 1.25 carats which is sooo pretty. Then for my 3rd wedding anniversary he got a stone from my uncle who is a jeweler. It's huge, 2.6 carats and really beautiful. i wore that one for a long time and would always get comments on it, but found that it was just too big ![]() I put it in the box and now wear my original rock. It sucks because I have it in my bedside drawer a stone worth tens of thousand and it's just sitting there and I don't know what to do with it. |

| ![]() I don't really think anyone can help you pick out an engagement ring - we have no clue to what you want. I can however tell you what I would want. First of all, I think it is the most romantic if the guy chooses the ring without the girl knowing it and not proposing unjtil he has it - I don't care if it is butt ugly - HE chose it because he liked it and therefore I will love it! My husband had picked an engagement ring with a pearl, because my name derives from Marguerita which is the latin word for pearl ![]() He brought me to see the sunset over Grenen (I didn't suspect anything) and when the sun popped the horizon he kneeled down and said: "You are the sun of my life. My pearl. Will you share forever with me and marry me?" Now there's romantic for you! ![]() Second of all, if I had had anything to say I would have told him to please spend half the amount he had planned for a ring on orphans, donate to some organisation that helps children in need. The other half could buy me the ring I needed (Plain silver ring if that's what he could afford - who cares - love is not about proving yourself with a big rock). See - everytime I would look at that ring, I would remember that my happiness for him was connected with those children ![]() And that would make me twice as happy! I told him that and when we went to choose wedding rings (tradition says you do that together here in Denmark) and we did it - every time I look at my wedding ring I remember that we shared our happiness with some children somewhere ![]() Maybe you can use that idea?

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() How much fun that'is I assume that you now know about the 4 C\s Color Clarity Cut Carats I would set my budget before going out shopping and make sure you get a valuation certified bt a jeweller. The length and size of your fingers is a good determinant as to the width of the band as well as carat size. A raised setting is pretty but that style can often get caught on sweaters hosery etc. Also the work that you do is important. For many of us who work with our hands a large ring might get in the way of your job Then you need determine if you wear your ring into work or not Good luck and have fun
