Do you believe in ghosts? So the ouija board thread got me thinking... How many of you actually believe in ghosts? (I don't mean in terms of angels, heaven, god ect.) I mean ghosts as in spirts that have not passed on. If you do, why? Something you've seen or experienced? Please share. :) I've always loved stuff like this. Hauntings and ghost stories... but I've never had anything REALLY scary or bizarre actually happen to me. So I'm not sure I actually believe in any of it. I think the strangest thing thats ever happend to me was when I was younger (like 8 or 9) I was in my babysitter's basement and was walking into a bedroom and I heard something hit the ground behind me. I looked back and it was a little music box that played yankee doodle (I have NO idea how I remember that). I looked ALL over the entire basement and NO one was down there. It FREAKED me out and I remember it to this day. By the way, I just had to turn on the lights because thinking about it is freaking me out LOL ) |

I've never... yet anyways - knock on wood... had any encounters with any "ghost-like" objects or things or whatever you'd call it. We currently rent in a terribly old house and I absolutely hate it. One day, I was in the shower and almost poo'd myself because I heard something upstairs (we don't use the upstairs, I keep the door shut with wood in front of it). I started flipping out, whining to my dear boyfriend and everything... turns out there were birds going into this hole on the outside of the house doing God knows what. The hole was right on the other side of the wall where the bathroom is. I did go into this supposedly "haunted" old hospital in my hometown when I was in high school though. I was with my best friend and her brother, we had went into this one room and all of a sudden I felt wind or something go across my back then a pole supposedly hit my friend's brother in his back then fell to the floor. Needless to say, we ran out of there as fast as lightening and never went back. We weren't supposed to be there anyway . |
I do. Is actually part of my upbringing, and culture background. We share the island with haiti. As you know haiti is the matrix, of budu within the caribian islands. thus Budu being the mother of santeria, becomes part of the culture itself. It does not mean one is a fanatic, or a follower. It means one believe in it. Have I experience it? Only metaphysical facts. To complicated to explain. It is in history as well. The spaniards, would buried their tressures with one of their black slaves in it, because the black spirit will protect the tressure. Those poor souls |
I Believe... I believe in ghosts or spirits. My sister lived in a 150 year old home in Leola, Pa. As soon as they moved in their 2 little girls were afraid to sleep alone. They said a little girl named Rachel kept bothering them. One day I was waiting for them to get home from school and I heard a child laughing on the second floor. When I went up I saw no one. I started down the hall and the bedroom lights started turning on and off. I almost had a heart attack. I said Rachel enough I've had a long day and you frighten the girls. As I was going down the steps the laughter got louder. My sister said she'd be watching tv late @ night and the girls strollers and bikes would roll from the D.R. to the L.R. As soon as she said Rachel stop, it stopped. They later found out a 6 year old little girl named Rachel had burned to death on the second floor of the house. It gives me goose bumps thinking about it. They lived there with Rachel for 9 years before the moved to a restless spirit-free home. Enjoy...:aimeeyork Baron's Mommy |

We were talking about different spirits yesterday with my uncle and aunt who are pastors. I have always seen and heard different things since i was able to understand lol. I sort of feel different stuff in different places. Like my grandparent's house is full of energy. I use to see a little hand waving in my grandparent's front room and I mean it use to be right there.I would hear voices. My grandmother sees little children playing by her bed every now and than or a man. At my dad's old town house i felt things too, he had a statue from Haiti and it just made me feel weird when I was left a lone, it was and old man looking at you. He gave my grandmother another one made different and she told my grandpa to take it out! My dad is also the same he feels different things. My grandparent's have a history with bad spirits though. I think they followed them from another house they use to live in. They had a lot of problems with it. |
My thoughts are anything is possible! I think there are so many unexplained things that happen, that I'm open to it! The only weird thing that has happened to me was a strong feeling of deja vu when I was 7-8yrs old. I was playing outside with a friend and we were acting like we were typing on these big white rocks and all of a sudden I got this really strange sensation in my stomach and this thought/vision gave me this feeling like I had done this before! It's hard to describe, but that was sooo long ago and I remember it like yesterday! I know that's not a ghost, but it was weird and freaked me out! |
Absolutely! My parents old house was part of the Underground Railroad. There was also an old Indian village that had been on the property on the riverbank. The burial grounds were very nearby. They were uncovered during the Agnes flood. Strange things were always happening there. We would try to explain them off, laugh at them, keep from being scared. Best one was the toilet flushing in the middle of the night. My brother lives there now and to this day his family have felt "pushes" from behind. I did see a "ghost" - a white, semitransparent, semi-glowing shape one night in the woods near the house. Yep, scared the Holy Bejeepers out of me! This is a very historical area as far as Colonial/Native American history goes. So, yes, I believe 100%. If you do a search, there have been other threads about members' experiences with the supernateral. |
I believe in them ..... it .... |
I believe in them but the only thing out of the ordinary that ever happend to me was one time when I was by myself the dryer came on by itself. I used to listen to this radio show at night about ghosts and stuff called coast to coast. On there alot of people claim to have experiences with ghosts |
I do. There's too much evidence that says so. I wish I could get a visit from my husband.....I've been waiting but so far - nothing |
Yup! Me and my Dh have a few that live in our house. The most active one is a tall slender man. He used to wake me up every now and then. One we can just sense, and stuff moves or the TV changes channels. The last one we think is my DH's Dad. He only messes with stuff that we have of his or that are memories of him. He also seems like he is trying to show us things. He isnt frightning, but it is all very strange. My Grandmother has her mother and a little boy who lives in her house. She can communicate with them too. |
Yes, I do. |
My Dad's mom lives in an old farm house in GA that is haunted. There have been a lot of strange things occur there- an unplugged record player playing was a freaky one. She has heavy solid wood doors that slide into the wall, separating her living room and dining room and several times they have opened and closed loudly. I was always terrified in that house and I would have nightmares after a visit there. All of the bedrooms except my grandmother's are upstairs and once I woke up to the sound of someone running loudly up and down the stairs. That was the last time I slept up there. My dad had some back problems and would frequently sleep on the floor in the living room so I started sleeping on the couch and when Lauren outgrew her playpen I put her on the love seat. My dad passed away in 1999and I haven't been back. I feel terrible but I'm too scared to go there with out him and it's a tiny town with no hotels. I don't know why it doesn't scare my grandmother but it doesn't faze her. V, my dad and I were best friends and I always thought he would pay me a visit- we both believed so strongly in that possibility- but he never did. I assume he is in a better place where communication isn't possible any longer. |

nikki & villette,,, ask god everynight to give you a sign, and he will. |
I had a very frightening thing happen several times when I was about 4 years old. At the time, we rented a home in upstate N.Y., across from a cemetery. I was lying in bed, lights out...I opened my eyes and saw a figure come out from behind the closet door!!!!!! To this day, I can picture him. He was all black, no facial features, thin, with like a pointy chin! Now, he would remind me of an alien or a devil face!!! He came over to me and tickled my ribs reallllly painfully!!!! I remember saying, "Please stop". This happened several times!! I told my Mom and she said, "Oh, honey, you were dreaming'. NO I WASN'T, EITHER!!!!!! Now, when the lights go out for bed, I DO NOT look around!!!!!!!! |

I am a believer in ghosts and demons. Have had experiences with both. |
I've had a few strange experiences that just could not be explained. The first one was when my parents were in a horrific car accident. Something or someone "told me" that something terrible had happened and that I should find my Mom! My oldest daughter sees and feels ghosts all the time. They are all around us. |

These stories are creeping me out! Here's my story, and it's been posted here before... I moved to a new city for college about 4 years ago. It was over 4 hours from home and I didn't know anyone there. I moved into this old apartment in a building that looked like an old army barracks. I just got a terrible feeling when I went inside. I actually CRIED and called my parents. I was only there for two weeks before I had to get out. I heard noises constantly, but I convinced myself that they were noises from the other apartments. Windows would slam shut when there was no wind. I could hear water running in the bathroom but when I went in there, there was nothing. One afternoon I was taking a nap in my bedroom with my door closed tightly shut and I woke up to my bedroom door flying open, and I was honestly scared stiff... I couldn't move. My mom came down to help me find a new place to live after I'd been there for a week. She is a complete skeptic about all that kind of stuff. After spending the first night there, she told me she got a weird feeling from the place. She had been sleeping on the couch in the living room and the bathroom light was on with the door open just a sliver. She said she opened her eyes and saw the sliver of light getting bigger and smaller (no windows were open) and she looked and saw the door opening and closing. She had to go turn off the light to pretend it wasn't happening. |
Just to let ya'll know I could NOT fall asleep last night after reading all of these stories! I kept looking around and I actually slept with the light on LOL. :embarasse :embarasse |
