Someone Tried To Rob Our House! Oh my gosh! I was at work and our alarm company called saying our alarm went off. We have false alarms sometimes - so I assumed it was probably that, but I headed home as fast as I could. My biggest worry is always the BABIES. As soon as I got out of the car, I could hear the doggies barking and heaved with relief, thinking it was indeed just a false alarm of some kind. But when I got to the kitchen - the window to the backyard had been crow-barred open (even though it was locked), screen removed. They must've heard the alarm and took off without stepping a foot in the house - bc there was my SLR camera sitting right on the kitchen counter. LUCKILY, we keep Marcel and Wylie in our Master bed/bath - so they were completely unable to run up to the burglars or anything (and I'm sure they would have) - they were safe in a whole different area - THANKFULLY. So, I am really thankful for alarms and really glad that we do keep our dogs in a small area. I wouldn't care what "stuff" a burglar would take - but I don't know how I would survive them taking my babies. The police dusted for prints too, but didn't find any they could use. Oh my. What a WEEK. Full Moon tomorrow, people, FULL MOON. |
That must have been scary! I'm glad everyone is okay though! |
How scary!!! I'm glad you have an alarm and they didn't get anything but you must be so scared!! Glad the babies are OK too. |
:eek::eek: Im glad you and the babies are ok, that is scary |
Oh my!!!! What a scare!!! I'm so glad your babies are ok and nothing was taken!!! Give your babies an extra tight hug! |
Thank goodness everything is ok. I know how you feel. I would die if someone stole my girls. Alls well that ends well. :) |
Aw, thanks guys. I agree - so glad they're safe! I'm just holding them tight - squeezing a little tighter than normal and thanking the universe! :) |
Ann, I am so glad the babies are okay and that the alarm scared them off, I guess I should use mine more often!! It's so disturbing to think someone was trying to break into your home, I hope the creep or creeps get caught soon, as I am sure they won't stop there!! Be extra careful and keep an eye open for anything suspicious!! Take care!!! |
EEEEEK:eek::eek::eek:...that's scary!!! Glad they didn't away with anything, especially your babies. |
OMG......... I would be freaking out! It is such an eerie feeling to know that a stranger was trying to get into your home. I am so glad for you that you had an alarm to scare them off. Do you work at night or did this happen in the light of day? Do you have any neighbors that could have seen something? Ugh, how awful! I am so glad that your home, yourself, and your fur babies are all okay. Maybe it was all the barking from the big ferocious doggies that scared the would-be robber away! LOL |
That is an awful feeling! It has happened to twice in my lifetime. You feel so violated. Thank God for your alarm system and that your babies were safe!! |
I am so glad you have an alarm! We got an alarm system a few months ago and I am so glad we did. we have had a lot of "incidents" in our neighborhood. What is it with Arizona? |
be careful- they probably will not try there again! but your family and your furbabies saftey is all that matter- Just be really careful for a while!! want you and family safe! |
Oh Thank God for the alarm. I am so afraid of someone stealing my girls too. Glad everything was ok especially those precious babies. |

Oh Ann, so thankful your babies are OK! |
I'm so glad your babies are safe! It has to be a horrible feeling to know that burglars were on your property. Praying they won't be back since they now know you have an alarm. Hope they're caught!! These days, crime is everywhere, sadly. Try to enjoy the rest of yr weekend!! So full moon, huh? Jeeezzz, this evening on my way home, a black cat ran out in front of me! |
Thank goodness everyone is ok!!! I know your heart prob come up your throat when you found out!!! I wouldn't have thought alot of crime either-my brother-n-law lives in florence az-close by I think??- he has horses & everything. I guess in this day & time w/crazy prices on gas & groceries some people will stoop to anything-that's what we need to think about & be careful. |
I am so relieved your babies are okay. We just got an alarm system installed last week. It does give you peace of mind when you have to leave them alone. We have had no false alarms yet. We were afraid we would because my sister comes to play with Conner during the day, and we were sure she would somehow set it off. |
Ann~ I am so sorry to hear this, but what a relief that they did not get in! How incredibly scary!! Tam |

omgosh that is scary! Good thing they got scared. That is one of my fears of owning a house, that someone can just come in thru a window, so i always say when i get a house i will get an alarm system that is VERY loud and will scare them off and they will check on us. I'm so glad the babies are okay. |
There is a possibility that the camera could have played a role. If you have something like that sitting near a window and fully in view, it can attract a thief, just like leaving something tempting in your car, rather than the trunk. Better to put things like that away when you're not home. |
that is SO scary! I'm SO thankful that your alarm scared them away and that the pups (and your possesions) were unharmed! |
That is really scary! Glad everything is ok and your alarm was working perfectly! :) I've had something big and expensive stolen from me not to long ago. MY BRAND NEW CAR!!! It was replaced but I know you had something more precious to worry about, and I'm glad they're fine!!:):) Sometimes desperate people do desperate things. It's in no way an excuse or a justification for what they did though. I wouldn't say "immigrants" did it though, this whole country is built on immigrants....I'd just say desperate people. |

And, noooo - I never said immigrants did anything - I have zero idea as to who did it. Someone was surprised to hear there was so much crime in AZ (bc many people think it is low crime) - and I told her what we're told by our government here - "it's higher in crime partly bc we have so many illegal immigrants". And I agree with you - we are all immigrants - me and all my french, german, swede - mutt ancestors. :) |
Oh my gosh, I'm sorry this happened, but thank goodness the babies and your home was ok! I know it's scary, our house was robbed when I was 14 and living in Florida. It was my Brother's 16 birthday and we were out celebrating. They broke in and drugged our black lab. It turned out to be a group of high school students and they broke into so many houses in communities in the area and it was an adult that put them up to it! It's a strange feeling when your home has been violated like that, thank goodness they only knocked our dog out and she was ok! Try to have a relaxing weekend! |
Oh My, that is so scarry! Glad to hear nothing was taken and that your fur babies were fine! Too bad they were not able to find a print they could use so they could nab these criminals so they don't try it again! |
