Holy Crap!
Our house was broken into when we first moved in. My kids were younger then and I had the little neighbor boy staying with me...hubby was at school.
I only left long enough to pick up carryout food and came back home.
They stole, among other things, a gun :eek: Long story...shorter Thank God they were gone when we got back! whew!
The guys who did it were eventually caught and our "stuff" returned.
Like you, I was just relieved that nobody was hurt.

Thank goodness little Wylie and Marcel are OK. :hug:

That is scary. My daughter lives in Phoenix in the Glendale area. As a matter of fact, as I type this, we are sitting in the La Quinta in Phoenix with our babies. We just arrived here about 1 hour ago. We will be here til Sunday

Very scary, but glad all is okay. Can you put a stick in that window so it can't be pried open? Makes you want to put bars on all ground floor windows. Its a shame we have to feel like prisoners in our own homes.

Something similar happened to my girlfriend. She lives in a ground floor condo adjacent to a park. There was a festival going on at the park. My GF locked up and set the alarm when we left. About an hour later, we came back and there were two Sheriff's deputies standing next to the door. They checked everything out. Her kitchen window has the alarm set up so she can leave the window open a few inches while the alarm is set. Someone removed the screen and tried to open the window, which set off the alarm. In their haste, they put the screen back on backwards. One of the deputies caught that.

It's so weird bc they're nice windows - with very strong locks that slide into the side of the jam - so they used a crow bar to get the window up. All of this with an ADT Alarm sticker staring them in the FACE. Can you believe that?? Unreal. I know - what's next? Bars!

Oh wow, I'm glad the babies are okay. I would have been freaking out. I will never understand how some people can do things like this. Thank goodness you have an alarm. :thumbup:

And, noooo - I never said immigrants did anything - I have zero idea as to who did it. Yeah an entire car, I went off to a weekend meeting for work, and left it at home, thought it would be safer. I beleive the only witness that saw said it was 3 men and a flatbed towtruck (they knew any damage to the car and it would be worthless). To be completely honest, that car was irreplaceable! It was brand new, a discontinued model and it took me forever to find it in the first place. I waited 3 weeks for it to be shiped from Japan!!!
I have a new car, and was recompensated money wise. Still upsetting though. I imagine a loss like your babies would be 100x's my loss, so I'm glad your smarter than me and had your bases covered. I think we could all learn from your near experience to be a little safer!! :)

I've heard that those ADT stickers don't scare them anymore because some houses put the stickers and signs without having the alarm system. I guess you showed them!!!!!! :p

Glad everything's ok, didn't know that about AZ, I thought it was considered safe too. In the middle of the afternoon, don't they realize how hot it is???? Maybe, they just wanted to cool off. :D I'm going to check the doors now.

Thanks, Breny :). Oh yeah - we're right in Phoenix and live in a really nice neighborhood. Lately, there has been a rash of crime in the area - so the police think some criminals are "hitting" the area as much as they can until they've "hit it too much", then they'll move on to the next neighborhood. We have a 6-ft solid adobe fence around our yard - no deterrent today! :rolleyes:

Oh my goodness Ann, I would be so terrified! This is my #1 fear when leaving home for anything as I'm sure it's the same for everyone on here. Glad nothing happened though and the furbutts are safe and sound ;)!

Thank goodness you have an alarm! :eek: That is so scary. When I was younger (teenager) our house was robbed...twice...by the same person. The creeps even went through our underwear drawers! It is a very violating feeling to know that some creep has been in your house going through your things. :(

I just don't get people, why can't they be honest and just get a job to support themselves like everyone else! How can they live with themselves by stealing from other people!?:mad:

I was robbed at gunpoint once. Be careful!! I am thankful they were gone when you arrived. Desparation makes people do awful things!!

Thank God your babies were alright. I couldn't imagine being without my Sassy. It would likely kill me!

OMG ! That's my HUGE Fear living alone in an apartment - no alarm eigther.

Thank GOD you were all ok and that was a great investment to have security...what FREAKS that will steal and rob people - I hope they catch them !

Actually we do have wrought iron bars on our lower side windows. It doesnt look bad either we have wrought iron in other places on the house. I am sorry that happened. When I was younger someone broke into our apartment and I know it makes you feel so violated even if they didnt steal anything I am also glad to here Marcel and willey are safe

Im glad they didnt get in and the babes are safe. I still want to move to Ariz someday, but I guess Ill make sure I have an alarm.
