That's ridiculous! It sounds like she needed to make herself feel better by putting you down. You know how many people would have just rammed into her cart before even asking her to move? I think you were VERY polite! People are so demented. I work at Wendy's, and the customers' demand for respect without giving it back is insane. I usually work drive through - I collect the money, I don't take the orders. One time this guy came through and he got up to my window, I opened the window and this is what happened (Reader's Digest version lol): Me: Hi How are you? Him: Do you KNOW what you sound like? Me: Excuse me? Him: You sound DEAD. blah blah blah (more exchanging) You're supposed to say "Please" "Thank you" etc. Me: I'm sorry sir. I don't take the orders. (more exchanging) Me: Have a nice day. Him: *scoffs* Yeah. *drives off* I was pretty much in shock. Last time I checked, you're at LEAST supposed to say "thank you" or smile when someone wishes you well. You don't rudely scoff and say "yeah." It's like...oh my gosh...if you have to be an idiot and lecture ME about being polite, then at least be able to give respect in return! People are so...stupid. They have sticks waaaay too far up their butts - thinking that they deserve respect more than other people. |

I couldn't help but laugh at this one...:D:D:D But I agree though...:p |
You know what my Hubby ALWAYS tells me (cause I fly off the handle way to EASY) .... "kill with kindness" ..... :D |
I seriously cannot STAND rude and negative peopl....that is the one thing i have no tolerance for. I would have told her where to shove that cart...haha |
I won't even start on all the rude and crazy behavior I see at work.....I'm a flight attendant!!! I'm sure you can all imagine!! |
Might not be a popular answer, but this is mine. Big Kudos to you for not blowing your cool. "Reacting" with reciprocal rudeness - as good as it feels in the moment - does not really help. It only reinforces the originally rude person's feelings of being justified in being rude in the first place. And whether you're first or second at being rude, being rude really only contributes to the rudeness in the world. And while that kid is being "trained" by his mom, he's also watching how other people handle situations. So come here and vent, but good work not doing it right then! |
