Well I have to tell y'all as of now, I am in love! My husband always has a really good tan and I held my arm up to his and it almost looked the same. I've used lotions with self tanner in the past and stopped because they were making my towels look dirty and it made me feel like I was dirty so we'll see but I'm going to try to get over it. I ordered Bare Escentuals Faux Tan today to do touch ups in between. It's pretty good ingredient wise and is getting good reviews. Has anyone used it?

I had the advantage of my daughter working at the tanning salon and coaching me as what to expect and how to "prep". Yes...you have to do the prep work. I'm sure you will be please with the results...and yes, us ladies are into this stuff...aren't we.

I feel like we're on a "tan watch".

i would of strongly suggested a base tan first.. like two or three times in the tanning booth 4 minutes each time. otherwise, depending on how white you are, youll turn out pretty orange.

Okay so I am dying to know how it is looking now.

I may have to give it a try because I end up in the stand up tanning booth since you know I can not handle being pale either - ha, ha!!!

Well the final report on the color- PERFECT! It could not be more natural and zero streaking. My white sheets didn't even take too bad of a hit. My pillow case looked like I slept in some makeup but the rest of my sheets were fine. I'm going to do another one on Thursday so so I'll be nice and tan this weekend so I wont know about how even it will fade until next week.

Caren you should do it. LA Tan has it for $10 every Monday so you have nothing to lose. I went to the one on Dairy and they have brand new really nice equiptment and the girl who worked there was so sweet and really held my hand while I paniced.

You could even do it on a lunch break because there isn't any yucky fake tan smell.

I was wondering how would like it today. You are makng me seriously consider this. What is color like...is it more of a golden or deeper brown?

Here are some pictures- please ignore my zombie look. You can see from my zillions of freckles why I am choosing sunless now.

The first is my arm next to my daughter's arm. I wasn't as pale as her to start (she's a sunscreen fanatic) but it gives you some comparison.

Unfortunately my freckles are alway there. I was a lifeguard as a teenager and when I wasn't working I was surfing or just laying around baking myself and as an adult all of my hobbies still revolve around water so that's 35 years of hard earned damage.

Ok, off-topic...you both are so silly! I have always had freckles....I tanned easily, but yes, I had freckles. I have been out with the kiddos this summer and mine have popped out as well. Now don't think I'm nuts, but I really like them. My face is tan with some freckles. I don't know, something about them makes me at least feel like I look younger. At 35, I will take anything that makes me feel a tad more youthful.

So there, I admitted it.....I LIKE FRECKLES!

Aww thanks Tammy- I look a little beat in the picture but hey, we're all friends here right?

I think people who have a little dusting of freckles on their face are so cute too. It's all of the freckles covering my chest and arms I could live without. When I was working as an esthetician I could always tell right away the native Floridians from the transplants by their chest if they were over 25. It really is amazing the difference. We really work hard to wreck our skin here. lol. The color is the same as my natural tan- I'm pretty surprised. If you search my Aruba pictures, that's my real tan- no difference. Yay!

Well at first I thought...yay! no stinky smell! But after the next time I used it, it was there....but not as 'bad" as others.

It seems no matter what I use when it fades I get these blotchy marks...like freckly looking...like its wearing off. I don't know how to describe it.

But I can say out of all of them I have tried I like this best. I just hate...stinking and feeling dirty like you said. But i think I'm going to start using it again...I'm WHITE!

When you used the lotions...did you do your WHOLE body? I did everything and I'm wondering if maybe I don't need to???

I've used some of those gradual sunless tanners that you used daily. Even then it was just on my arms and legs- mostly just legs. I am so happy to hear your review on the BE. I'm hoping if I use it once a week and do a Mystic once a week, hopefully I won't have that blotchy fading period. I think I'm going to have to go buy some tan towels though. Seeing it come off on my white towels is gross- if I can't see it, I can pretend it isn't there.
