| YouTube Video - Lucky is Sick Hi guys, I'm not sure where to post this since this is regarding a youtube video of a person I subscribe to. Her 13 y/o dog Lucky (she's a big mix, I'm not sure what of) was diagnosed w/heart disease a year ago and apparently has taken a turn for the worse. I just figured I would post the link to the video here to see if anyone has gone through this with any of their pets so that maybe they could offer her suggestions on what to do. I am not affiliated in any way w/the maker of the video or owner of the dog Lucky (Jill) -- I just saw how heartbroken she was over her baby being so ill and the poor dogs terrible cough from the heart disease just broke my heart. I don't have any experience w/heart disease in dogs but I know all of the wonderful people on YT are such a wealth of knowledge I was hoping maybe someone might be able to point her in the right direction or offer hope or help. Here is the link to the video: I hope this is allowed, if it isn't please feel free to delete it. I am not intending to post it as solicitation or anything I just didn't know if anyone could possibly give advice or support to this girl and her pup during this all. I am off to go hug my furbabies and be thankful for my furry little blessings <3 Last edited by yorkiegirl83; 08-10-2008 at 10:14 PM. |

| Oh this just brought tears to my eyes as I have gone thru this with my Buffy but my girl did not faint . She does not say what the heart problem is do you know? Buffy has a heart murmur and about 3 yrs ago was very sick from it. It was enlarged, her chest full of fluids, and having about 4 breathing attacks a day. The reason her dog does not want to walk anymore is because she is so tired, her heart is over working. My vet said that the more they cough the worst the heart is......there is medication to slow the heart, release the fluids and open the bronchos is needed. Buffy had an EKG done and was send by phone line to the heart specialist in Chicago and her x-ray's also checked by a specialist before she was put on the correct meds. Today she is still with me and only gets maybe 3 or 4 quick breathing attacks a year......the first time she went 2 wks without a breathing problem I swear I wanted to go have a drink in celebration it had been touch and go for over a year before things got under control. Well, I wish them well and hope there is something her vets can do to help her and her doggie.

She was able to get enough donations to take Lucky to a specialist, but the news was not good and shortly after leaving the specialist she took a turn for the worst and had to be put to sleep. I was really hoping this sweet baby would make it - RIP Lucky <3 | |
