BANNED! | Breny you might look up stair treads in your search engine. They make stick on ones that might work out for you. Here's a link showing what I am referring too: Braided Stair Tread Rugs Last edited by tiggerr36792; 08-10-2008 at 07:27 AM. |

| I got the plastic kind at Lowes. Did you ask a customer service rep if they sell it?

I'm thinking carpet would give us a better grip. Did your plastic go over hard stairs? | |

| My was called a carpet protector. It comes in a roll. It is thick plastic or Vinyl with little nubby things on the underside to grip to carpet. It is not slippery at all and it is very cheap. Here is something similar: Plastic Carpet Runner - Clear Vinyl Floor Mat Here is something else you might be interested in: CarpetSaver, protective carpet runners to protect your carpets, stairs and floors in the home, boat and RV.

| Good post! Elvis just started two days ago to go down our stairs by himself, unsupervised, surprised us. Our stairs are bare, no carpet, so I am scared to death that he will slip.

| Target has some on their website. The only thing with a carpeted runner on a tile stairwell would be attaching it to the steps so it isn't a safety problem. (A "loose" rug on a tile step could be very dangerous!!)
