| thanks for all the tips on places we can go!! We love to hunt. I am an animal lover like alot of you but the thing is that there is so many deer that people die in car accidents because they hit a deer. I'd much rather kill on with my bow and feed people, than hit one with my car and it do no good. The population needs to be controlled otherwise we could become the minority lol and we dont want that lol. Anyways I hope that made some sense to some people.

| Wow...I'd have never thought such a simple question would cause such a debate. I don't think the OP meant to start drama by asking a question. Tons of people hunt as a pastime...it's pretty common, depending on where you live. I personally find no interest in it and could never do it myself (among other things...all day, freezing in a tree stand, smelling like doe pee...um, no thanks ) But if someone else wants to bore themselves and take a shot at it (pun intended) be my guest. |

| It's stated in the thread title that it's about hunting animals... you could have just avoided the thread and moved on. No pot stirring would have occurred. Also, as far as I know, hunting threads have not been banned from this site, so she doesn't have to go somewhere else to ask her question. |

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | The OP didn't ask for opinions against hunting. I'm an animal lover - I adore deer - but she didn't ask for opinions, she wanted places to hunt. She said she eats the deer meat - it's not like she's wasting it. as long as it's being used and not just wasted, I don't have a problem with it. I don't believe at all that the OP was trying to stir the pot, I believe that she's just trying to practice her hobby. There's no reason for her to go to another forum to ask a simple question - we have an off topic forum for a reason. The title specifically mentioned that it was a thread about hunting, if you didn't agree with it you shouldn't have opened it in the first place. JMO. OP, I know that there's a large deer population in Upstate NY, and also I'm pretty sure there's a large one in PA.

| Come on down to South Texas. I'm sure you can find a bow lease to get on or just a hunt for a wekend, bow seson starts soon. Be prepared to spend some money if you are strictly a trophy hunter, as you should, but if you are interested in helping a rancher with game management on their property I'm sure you could harvest a doe or a spike for little cost. And good for you doing it the hard way with a bow! Don't worry, you can be an animal lover and a conservationist at the same time! I know I am! There is NOTHING worng with cull hunting and proper harvesting of wild animals, proper game management is key to some species survival!

| This may help some more My boyfriend is an avid bow hunter, go to TexasBowhunter.com it is a forum and the poeple on there are really great. I have never been on there but have heard it is a good place to learn. I grew up hunting in Alaska and don't do much here anymore, I harvest a doe for Hunters for the hungry once a year but I use a 7mag. We feed a lot of homeless people doing what we do with venison and fish and help keep the deer population under control.
