Night everyone, I'm heading to bed. Dena, would you mind tucking some kisses behind Punkin Butts ears for me please. Tell her I love her and I hope she has sweet dreams. I just popped in over there to see her real quick before I headed off to bed, she's so cute and I just love the way her colors are changing, SUCH a lil doll! Night all, sweet dreams.

Yes, I am fully aware of what comments you are referring to... and again.... that was said in response to a direct conversation between Diane and myself.... not directed towards anyone.....

Feel free to re-read previous posts for further comments on this if you still feel offended..... there certainly is no need to feel as such.

No matter..... she wasn't..... and I for one, am glad of it....

Enjoy your evening all. :)

This is exactly what I was referring to.

Dena, I just watched Emma's PLAYTIME video. It is such fun to see her racing around
attacking the monkey. I think I need to start drinking some of that special formula if it gives you that kind of energy. I think we should change her nickname to FRISKY BUTT !! hugs to you both....

linda44 09-26-2008 01:07 PM

thank you Dena, give kisses for me too please.

Life is a journey we all make. It is a process. During the course of this journey, we make many choices that have a tremendous impact, not only upon ourselves , but upon others.....including living beings that aren't human.

I give you one story, twice, each version having a different ending and, thusly, a different effect. Personally, I would choose the first course of action. Everyone must decide what impact they desire to project upon 'others' on their journey through life.

Based on the story by Loren Eisley...

I awoke early, as I often did, just before sunrise to walk by the ocean's edge and greet the new day. As I moved through the misty dawn, I focused on a faint, far away motion. I saw a youth, bending and reaching and flailing arms, dancing on the beach, no doubt in celebration of the perfect day soon to begin.

As I approached, I sadly realized that the youth was not dancing to the bay, but rather bending to sift through the debris left by the night's tide, stopping now and then to pick up a starfish and then standing, to heave it back into the sea. I asked the youth the purpose of the effort. "The tide has washed the starfish onto the beach and they cannot return to the sea by themselves," the youth replied. "When the sun rises, they will die, unless I throw them back to the sea."

As the youth explained, I surveyed the vast expanse of beach, stretching in both directions beyond my sight. Starfish littered the shore in numbers beyond calculation. The hopelessness of the youth's plan became clear to me and I countered, "But there are more starfish on this beach than you can ever save before the sun is up. Surely you cannot expect to make a difference."

The youth paused briefly to consider my words, bent to pick up a starfish and threw it as far as possible. Turning to me he simply said, "I made a difference to that one."
I left the boy and went home, deep in thought of what the boy had said. I returned to the beach and spent the rest of the day helping the boy throw starfish in to the sea.

The youth paused briefly to consider my words, gave a shrug of his shoulders and turning to me he said, "You are right. No sense wasting my time on this."

We both went on to continue our day, leaving the starfish to die in the sun, except the few the boy had thrown to the sea before I came upon him in his futile efforts.

How's precious Emma today?

Mom2BabyNatalie 09-27-2008 06:22 PM

We just got back from the dogtors - - - I wanted to get Emma in to have the eye looked at, since it doesn't seem swollen or sore today and I didn't like the way her eyes were looking in pictures I'd taken over the past couple of days....

Dr. Neel wanted Emma to see Dr. Logan, which we did.

Evidently, she's progressed to having "dry eye" in both eyes, even though she's never had any problems with the left eye.... (she tested okay a couple weeks ago) - - and the right eye is smaller than the left.... (just a little at this point - but enough that I noticed it... ) - - - the pupil in the right eye is not constricting... but that COULD be caused by the atropine, so no more of that and they will recheck her again on Tuesday and we'll decide what to do from there if there is no change.

There's always the possibility that with one genetic defect - - we will see another.... and I've known that from the beginning..... and it MAY happen even, that in the long run - Emma doesn't have function of that eye..... but that worry is a long way off, so I'm told not to dwell on it now. These issues could fade and all may be perfectly fine with her.... so we'll just have to wait and see.

DvlshAngel985 09-27-2008 06:31 PM

I hope her wittle eye feels better soon!
Just noticed this thread is at over 1900 post! It's obvious Emma has captured an audience. Keep growing and getting healthier Princess Emma!!!!

bettyeanne 09-27-2008 07:09 PM

Ah, Dena, I am so sorry that little Emma's eyes are still showing problems. She is so precious and been through so much already ... poor sweet baby, I am praying for her every day that she will continue to grow into a healthy little girl. God bless for your love and patience with this little angel.

I was thinking it was dry eye cause of the symptoms she was having. Hope things are going better with them soon.

KwiddyKat 09-28-2008 12:24 PM

I swear, she just gets more and more beautiful everyday! If my little Roscoe could see her I'm sure he would be so in LOVE! :) (He likes the chi ladies!)

Mom2BabyNatalie 09-28-2008 01:03 PM

Sorry about Emma's live cam being down today.... not sure what happened with the connection but I've been working on getting it back up.

I need to run Emma's fursister Alley (she's a Pitbull) down to the hospital real quick (she's a doggie blood donor) and will try again with the webcam when we return.

Also, I think I'll be shutting the cam down around 11pm each night to give Emma's lil' eye eyes some "blackout" time..... normally I keep a dim light on her all night so folks can see her....

Be back in a while!! :)

DvlshAngel985 09-28-2008 01:44 PM

Probably giving her some black out time would be best. We'll miss you Emma! And I wanted to wish Alley good luck at the vets, what a wonderful helpful family you guys are!

Can you believe it!!! 8 weeks old!!!

Wow..... sometimes I just sit back in absolute amazement at this tiny little being..... how far she's come!!!

Emma is weighing in today at 14.5 ounces!!!

I can't thank you all enough for continuing the prayers for our girl.... the "power of the paw" is AWESOME.... and the power of prayer SAVES!!! So with the two combined... how can we lose?? :)

We love you guys!!!!

Lou 09-29-2008 09:54 AM

Hi Dena!
I was just checking in to see what everyone was saying about our little darling and I see these great pictures! Thanks for posting.
You know, I knew you were a giver but to extend that to your furkids is remarkable. A blood donor. What a good idea!
Did I miss Emma's middle name? What did you decide?
