I believe there are many, many more that would want it to remain open. I am hoping that the majority would be considered in this instance. Actually, I should have been at work already. I guess I will have to wait until tonight to see the outcome. If it is closed, I will be heartbroken and oh, so very sad. |

EVERYONE here is concerned for sweet little Emma. I don't see where anyone has posted that is not concerned for her. Likewise, though people have a right to question the situation if they suspect something just doesn't sound right and everything just doesn't add up. |

She's already said...she will not take her back to her vet's. |
I dont think it should be closed either. For people wanting to check on Emma or pray for Emma this should be the place. I do wish when people raise legitimate concerns on here they wouldnt be attacked. Also when someone asks a question to dena it would be nice if others would let her answer it. I dont know why she cant answer questions posed to her. |
ok i havent read this thread in a couple of hours but im not too happy about wats goin on.. I read about people having diff opinions but what's goin on?? I understand that people have their opinions but new need positive thoughts right now. Dena is doing the best that she could to care for this baby. |

If there is no nasal passage open on the side of the cleft, it is not conncted to anything at all. Actually, it would really not be open to the back of the throat only, unless it were a soft palate cleft only. In a cleft to the hard palate....it is open to the nasal passages at the beginning of the cleft all the way to the back of the cleft. |
Administrating oral antibotic into the cleft is, indeed, placing fluid inside the very cavity she is trying to prevent fluid from entering. Preventing fluid from going into the cleft is the sole reason for tube feeding. No doctor or vet is gives you a prescription for an oral antibotic with instructions to pour into the wound. It is taken orally. Once all the sutures came out...I think a professional should have been consulted on the best method to handle the care and healing. I would like to see this animal get evaluated and followed by a professional and that is not being done. |

I'm in agreement with the others who said they don't want to see this thread closed. I still check it several times a day to see if Dena has posted any updates on Emma. I thought the suggestions of putting her down were a bit harsh, but the posts today, whether I agree with them or not, aren't nearly as hurtful as the others were. That's just my opinion though. |

Yes, I understand that. I wanted to know if an appointment had been made. Afterall she just had surgery...but there has not been any follow up care to that. It seems to be in Emma's best interest if she receives continual care and follow ups with a veterinarian. |
You are truly an inspiration, you are following your heart! I applaud you for that! |

Every difference of opinion i not grounds for closing a thread. No one has gotten mean or abusive. And the OP isn't even ujpset, so why should it be closed. There has been a wealth of information posted on this thread. Information that others of us might need in the future. |
