Excellent advice! And so true! I know if I had it to do all over again, there would be much more calmness involved. Mine are now 14 and 12 so it will be a while before I get grandkids but I'm ready for them so that I can put your excellent advice to use. You sound very wise.

| Patty thank you so much....this makes so much sense and I sometimes need to be reminded to enjoy things and roll with them. I remember 17 years ago the pedtrician told me to do everything my son needed and if he wasn't sick and everything had been done and he was still crying to put him in his room and let him cry for a little while. I never had to do that....he NEVER cried unless we were going to the hospital for ear infections. Again, thanks for this post it is great advice. Angie |

Isn't it. The difference between my son and this baby are amazing. They are 17 years apart and I know I have to re learn most things, but I am not so set on everything has to be perfect mode. I have learned in life nothing is perfect and just do the best you can ( of course I mean truly your best ) and most of the time things work themselves out anyway. Angie | |

| i know what you all mean...i had a little made up song that i whispered into the girls ears when they were crying and it worked....they would actually ask me to sing it to them as they grew when they were sick, hurt, sad, or scared...and believe it or not my youngest who gets married in May asked me just a few months ago to sing it to her cause she missed hearing it....just a little thing...started out as a good night lullaby but ending being used for everything......(winds blow....stars come out....another day is thru.....we close our eyes....say good night...good night ...good night)....that is it...i just sang it over and over and over till they either calmed down or actually fell asleep.....it is one of my most favorite memories of my special time with my girls....

| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I think my biggest tip is: DO NOT let your baby sleep with you! I made this mistake with my 1st daughter and she ended up sleeping with me till she was around 10 years old. It's a bad habit to start and a very hard habit to break! |
