How come it wasn't found during your home inspection or disclosed when you bought the home? Maybe you have some recourse there. |
If it has to be anything, glad that it is an old cistern holding tank. At least that is fixable. Joanne |

I honestly don't know, especially in regards to the laws in the state you are in, but it does seem like something that would have had to have legally been disclosed when you bought the house and something that should have definatley shown up in a home inspection. My thought on this is if it was disclosed would you have been able to determine if it was something that would have the effect it is now or something that wasn't probably covered up now resulting in the issue that you have now. Had you known, perhaps you guys could have had it taken care of before this happened possibly causing structure damage or something. Or that the previous home owners would have had to have taken care of before selling the home. Might be worth a call or two. |

I know in VA you have to disclose EVERYTHING about the house. You can sell the house "As Is" but you must disclose anything that you know to be wrong with the house. I think i would look into the laws in your state as well. How scary! I sure do hope you can fix it! |
Hey everyone sorry I have been kinda MIA I am sure you understand under the circumstances. I am going to try to get the new pictures downsized and loaded in the morning. I had a very long day at work than home. I am told by hubby things are moving along with the "fix" well. BTW I really don't thing the owners before us knew it was there. The elderly lady next door did but had forgotten about it till this happened. |
