Canine combat is a perfectly natural occurrence in the wild, but the way we do it, there are veterinarians on hand, and the result equals a bout more safe, secure and enriching than mother nature can offer. Are the dogs in danger? Well trained and well prepared, professional animal athletes are never in any serious danger. As with any other action packed, fast paced sport, those who are not well prepared and well trained are at higher risk than those who aren’t. Isn’t it cruel to fight dogs? It is not cruel, inhumane or in any way unnatural. Dogs fight all the time, whether in the wild plains of Africa or scrapping in the alley behind your house. Cruelty is taking that instinctive nature and repressing it. It would be like making it illegal for dogs to eat grass, barf on the carpet and eat it again for good measure. The important thing to remember is that dogs don’t have a soul the way people do and remind ourselves that our emotional attachment to pets is simply unhealthy and silly. I actually just contacted the FBI, who sounded utterly clueless.... they said that they "believe dog fighting is legal / illegal on a state by state basis" and there was nothing they could do to get this site shut down... I've since found the following which states that dog fighting is ILLEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES!!! Remember the Fox news reporter that posted here about the Brushy Creek Kennel thing about a year ago? Maybe if contact could be made with that reporter, then something could be done that way. What these folks may consider humor is just not funny to the majority of people. Taking something that is seriously wrong in our society and making something like this out of it is beyond outrageous. |
Hmmm I'm wondering if it's illegal for them to use an image of a microsoft product and photoshop it to make their own product that looks legit? I'm sure there has to be some copyright laws there that they're breaking. I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't be too happy about seeing their logo on a site like that. |
