| Gotta' Sell My Car =( OKC, OK Well, it's kind of a bummer, but - I just bought a new (well not NEW, but) - '07 Suzuki XL7 about a month ago... and turns out, that my daughter (moving into her college dorm room in a few weeks... her first year!!) is going to need a little more financial help than we'd planned. She injured her back at her job as a CNA and the doctors will not release her for employment. She may end up needing surgery so it might be some time before she can return to work. Anyway, in order to help her better, I need to have a bit more cash on hand than I'd expected.......... so, I'm going to let go of my "new" car.... If anyone in the area is looking.... or knows of anyone looking.... feel free to send 'em my way!!! Thanks, thanks!

| Awww, thanks you guys... but really, no worries It's not a big deal... I don't NEED a "luxury vehicle" anyway, hahahaha... a simpler, less expensive car will be fine (and cheaper on insurance!!) Just wanted to put the word out in case anyone near me is looking. Thanks again! Big hugs

| Not sure what your daughter's status is, but if she is full time with benefits she should ask the doctor if she can get work hours by doing "light duty". Maybe she can answer phones or something! just a thought Good luck with the car sale. You are an awesome mom... mom's always sacrificing for da kids!! |

Her employer is trying to say that she voluntarily quit her job... which she did NOT... in fact, I'm the one that called her boss (the day my daughter couldn't get out of her bed) and told her that she wouldn't be back to work UNTIL she was seen, treated and released by a doctor for her injury. Katie is young for her age I guess.... she turned 20 at the end of June, but just graduated HS in May... (I held her back in kindergarten and 1st grade) - - - this CNA position was her first "real job" and I'm not sure she followed "protocol" exactly with regards to reporting the injury immediately.... She talked about it to her boss and coworkers... and kept on working even though she knew she'd hurt herself.... but didn't actually file an incident report until a few weeks later.... and even then, when she TRIED to submit it, her boss refused to accept it. It's all kind of a mess, but the attorney is working to "right it".... so we'll just have to wait and see. In the mean time, she's at least being treated... and goes for another appointment here in the city on tuesday (she lives 2.5 hours away, but the only doctor the attorney has "on staff" - meaning, will treat her without being paid for the time being, is here) - and they are HOPEFULLY going to schedule her for the MRI and see what's going on in there. The doctor won't release her even for "light duty" - even though her employer would not have given it to her anyway.... (but, a denial of light duty by an employer is automatic eligibility for WC benefits, IF she COULD get the doctor to release her even for that much... but thus far, he won't.... says she is "temporarily 100% disabled"... what a crappy way to spend your first summer after graduation!!) The WC attorney said for her to file for unemployment - so we did that - but they denied her claim for two reasons they said.... one being that since she is not released to return to work, she doesn't qualify (evidently you have to be "actively seeking employment" to receive unemployment benefits) and two, she is enrolled in college.... (what that has to do with it, I don't know) Although they would have denied her in any case I suppose because the employer is not being truthful about the separation to begin with.... so it's a fight every step of the way. I feel for her... she's too young to be having to deal with all this.... but.... "welcome to the world, my love" is what I tell her... I remember when she was SO HOT TO GROW UP!!!! haha... BTW, did I mention that the car already has Yorkie decals on it?? And "I love Yorkies" ribbon magnets.... OH, and an "I love my Yorkie" license plate!!!! (this alone most definitely increases the value!!!)
