| to all cell phone owners... Cell phone numbers going public REMINDER....all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls. ....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. It take about 20 seconds. www.donotcall.gov works well also. |

| I apologize if my post appeared to be rude. It certainly wasn't my intention. I appreciate the OP's intent. I am glad when anyone posts warnings like these. I have benefited from them greatly. I had just found some additional info on the subject and thought they would be interested to know so we don't all panic trying to get our number in. Please accept my apology to anyone was offended by my post. I just thought that if it was me I would want to know. Again, I am sorry if anyone took it the wrong way.

| Cell Phones Excluded I checked the Do Not Call site FAQs and found: Can I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry? Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry. You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers don’t call consumers on their cell phones without their consent. There are answers to many questions there: Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry

| Bumping this up as a reminder to all! UUUGGGGGG I just got my first cell phone telemarketer call. I have to admit I WAS NOT nice! This was a call with a twist.... to beat the DO NOT CALL requirements this jerk said that he was contacted by a third party who said I requested them to call. go figure the jerk. I asked who this third party was and you guessed it -- a person I have never heard of. If I ever meet this dude I'll ring his neck! |
