Default The Demo has begun!

I'm talking about my bathroom remodel. Hubby and I were at odds about what to do about our bathtub...buy a liner or have it reglazed. We did neither!
We bought a whole new tub! Our old one was cast iron. Now it's in bits and pieces
OMGosh, the bang, bang, bang...is freaking Abby and Daisy out! Especially Daisy. Abby's pretty much just walking around growling at the noise. Trying to keep them from eating all the bits and pieces of the walls and such that have been ripped out and somehow managed to get under the door is a chore! Abby will eat anything! Say a prayer they don't get something that I don't see! I need baby gates right now!

OH the mess!!! Good Grief! Nothing is where it belongs! There's white powdery looking stuff tracked all over the house. I keep sweeping, but no amount of sweeping is going to keep it all up all the time.

I'm so happy this is happening and will be even happier when it's done!
I'm taking pictures as we go along. I'll post when we're finished.

I'm so jealous! I bet your new bathroom is going to look fantastic when it's done!

Thank You

It's absolutely bare right now! I mean down to the bare wood.

Oh the life of a pioneer woman I just took a shower in the hose on the deck and pee'd in a bucket! I'm so glad we live in the country and our neighbors are all at work!

Today is day 4 with no tub or shower. Hubby and son have been showering with the hose everynight, but I was too chicken and it's been cooler than usual, but I couldn't take it any longer. Of course we wore bathing suits. No skinny dipping. Those sponge baths just weren't cutting it. At least we've had a toilet until today.

Honestly other than the mess it hasn't really bothered me too much. It's inconvenient, but I'm keeping my eye on the prize!

It should be done in the next couple of days The toilet will go back in later today.

You are funny. I'm glad they will have your toilet up and running today for you. How exciting to get a bathroom remodel. If you can, can you post some pics of it when it's done?

We just had new carpet installed a couple of weeks ago. The workman was there for like 7 hours and my two were beside themselves. At least that's what my husband told me. So I can't image how your furbabies are reacting to days.....of construction.

Definitely cheaper to replace it. Tubs are so inexpensive now. Did you break up the tub? You could have sold it to a salvage or one of those people that love antiques that they can refinish and reuse or just sell.

I still don't have a shower or a toilet! Can you believe it!

The funniest/worst thing just happened. Hubby and BIL were placing the tub and hubby hit some valve and water sprayed all over the freshly painted ceiling and walls! The ceiling paint was a lavender when wet, but dried white. We now have purple polka dots on the ceiling! I'm praying it will dry back to white.

Oh well, worst case scenario is that we'll have to repaint. I feel so bad for my husband. He has worked his tail off! (he's tail-less now )

Abby ate something awhile ago and then barfed it back up. I think it was styrofoam. I've tried my best to stay on top of them. Now they are locked in my bedroom with their food and water. Daisy is whimpering like she's being abused. Poor babies...poor me

Off to pee in a bucket!

We had a neighbor haul it off for us. I have no idea what he did with it, but if hubby didn't have to do it, I don't care. Even if someone would have paid us for it, it wouldn't be worth the trouble to him. He's about to pull his hair out.

Oh yes...forgot to say, it's broke up!

I wish our tub was inexpensive...no such luck.

I've been taking pics every step of the way! I'll be posting a link to all of them when the work is complete.

Congrats on the new carpet.

Lisa,
I should have brought them up today! Poor little Abby will eat anything and she upchucked some little pieces of styrofoam, but not before she played keep away with a bigger piece. I chased her all over the house! She's too fast!
My Grandma is in one hospital and Kristin is in another. We're going to try to get to see them both tonight, if we can. There's either nothing going on or everything, but that's the way it is for most folks I think I can't complain really!
I'm getting a new bathroom, I'm getting a new bathroom!

Oh I just looked and the tub is sitting in it's spot! Holy Cow! Weeeeeeee!

Thanks for the well wishes
