| Does that scare him when the devise is activated? I would imagine so, so that even adds to it. Getting used to meds is hard for an adult body, no less a little guy like Nathan. You all have been through so much it just breaks my heart but maybe it will take a little more time for him to get used to all of this. It sounds like he is in a wonderful hospital. Hugs, Joan

No Longer a Member | Thanks so much, you have already done so much already. All the Prayers and mail have meant so much to him and the family. He spends most of his time watching videos and playing video games. This calms him. This is the utmost right now, staying calm. |

| My heart goes out to Nathan and his family. That's so much for any youngster to have to deal with, let alone a special needs child. They will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

| Well that is a great smile on Nathan's face. I'm sure you were glad to see that. I wish him well and hope he gets to get home soon. I know he misses his home and where he enjoys. Prayers for him and his family.

No Longer a Member | Hello all~Just came across this thread again. Nathan is still in Houston but out of the hosp. He is able to stay will his family at the Ronald McDonald House now! He has to be checked pretty often to keep track of his device activity and monitor his meds. It has had to kick in quite often but seems to be doing the trick. Drs or now trying to come up with the right mixture of meds to control his excitability (agression) issues to keep him calm. They were able to leave Houston for the day and I was able to see him ans tony for a short while. Man, has he lost weight. His meds have kept him on the chubby side. He showed me his "battle scar". He told me the doctor put some muscles in his chest and is kind of skiddish of hugs..understandably. The scar is healing nicely. A lot bigger than I thought, I'd say about 5-6 inches. My poor baby. These pictures were taken of him and his lil' bro Tony day before yesterday. Son sent them on his cell. Now that he has learned to do this I will have more frequent pics. Thanks for asking about my boy. It's still a wait and see kind of thing for now. He just wants to go home. |

No Longer a Member | Update and new pics.. Nathan and his family are still at the Ronald McDonald House in Houston. He hasn't been in his own bed since June 1st. The whole family is living in one room but so thankful to be there. Nate is recieving the best care in the world at this hospital, people cross ocean's to get their children seen there. Still trying to adjust his meds and had to wear the halter monitor for a while. Another decrease in his Lasix and an increase in his heart meds. I have some new pictures of Nate and lil Tony passing the time in the crafts dept. They along with many other children painted animals on canvas to go on the walls there at the RM House...a beautiful sight, my babies. Nathan is the one with the blue hosp bracelet. oops, pics in next post. |
