Please tell your frister we are thinking of her & praying that chemo works. I cant imagine what she is going through but she is fighting & that is great. You keep strong for her... she needs you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you AT ALL..

Bettyeanne, your " Frister" continues to be in my prayers daily and I also spend a little extra time hugging my furbabies and telling them all about you all. I truly believe that somehow they understand and that their little hearts are sending up prayers as well. Hugs ..............

I'm keeping her in my prayers that she continues to recover and gets through this. I just now saw your post, and I think it was awesome of you to be so optimistic and not accept anything bad, in times like this, faith can help out the most.

I became a nurse after my mother lost her 8 yr struggle with multiple types of cancer. It was hard form me at the young age of 24...but i can tell you it doesnt get easier with age. Technology and research has improved so much in the past 20 yrs. Gosh I cant believe it has been 20 years.
I am sending prayers for your sister and for you my friend.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your frister. I have a couster (cousin/sister) that I would feel the same way about. Anyway, my sister in law was diagnosed with breast cancer when my nephew was 6 months old. She had originally felt the lump while pregnant but was told repeatedly it was only a clogged milk duct. Anyway after originally being told that th xray showed nothing to worry about she got a second opinion and was diagnosed stage 2 breast cancer because of the size of the tumor and her age (having just turned 31). She did chemo and then had a mastectomy followed by radiation. She started complaining about having stomach pains shortly before her 1 yr of diagnosis but the doctor said it was just the medications she was on. At her 1 yr mark he told her that she was cancer free (without doing a PET scan). A few days later, on her birthday, she was rushed to the ER doubled over. The cancer had spread to her liver. She began treatment again and although the outcome did not look well, she tried to keep a positive outlook. 6 months later she learned the cancer had spread to her brain. Again this was after complaining about headaches and such. Then 5 months after that the cancer had spread to her bone (and unfortunately again, had been complaining of back pain). She passed away almost 4 months later. This was last July 28th

It was devastating for us because although we had good recommendations on the oncologist, looking back I wish she would have changed doctors. But she was comfortable with him and trusted him. My brother had time to prepare himself although I think he is still shell shocked. She left behind my nephew who will turn 4 in August and my niece who is 5. The really sad part is that where they were both so young when she was diagnosed they don't really remember her at all. Through it all she looked to God to do as was His plan.

I hope and pray that God will answer your prayers and heal your frister. The hard part of this is that what is God's plan is not always what we would want for our own.

I should have mentioned I didn't share that to put any negative thoughts in your mind but to show you that throughout my sister in law's entire ordeal she looked to God. So while it's a sad part of my life, it's comforting too.

Thank you all so very much for your sweet thoughts and for your prayers. We are just taking it one day at the time. The soonest they can begin chemo is the 10th.

Dana, thank you for sharing your story. Your sister-in-law sounds like she was a beautiful person with very strong faith. It is heartbreaking that she died so young but we know that everything works according to God's plan and I suppose we aren't supposed to understand. It's hard sometimes but we just have to have faith. God bless you and your family and thank you so very much for keeping my friend in your prayers.

She came through the surgery fine ... the cancer has only spread to her lymph glands, which they removed along with her left breast. I was so afraid that it had spread other places. All the tests they did showed none in her bones, brain, etc. So, I am just so thankful they are relatively certain that they got it all ... what a relief. Just like I keep telling her, we'll lick this ... we're "Steel Magnolia's" ... tough old birds!!

She is such a clown ... knocked on my door on her way to the hospital early this AM [we were at the same hotel] ... she said "look down there" [long hallway with green carpet] ... she just told her daughter, "look, I'm walking the long green mile"!!!

We about fell in the floor laughing! She will also have chemo & radiation .. her daughter is buying her a pink wig [if she needs it!]!! OK ... we're a little different ... we laugh to keep from crying!!

But ... Patrick and I came home from Denver a few hours ago ... her daughter is staying with her and we are doggysitting Shira ... so, she is doing well, I'm home and I can now cry my eyes out!!! Thank you all so much for your prayers and we're gonna need lots more before this is over. I will update you all tomorrow.

Bettyanne, I am so glad to see your sister is ok.. I missed this and just found it.. Your post brought back memories of almost 8 years ago.. I lost my sister and my best friend.. I never gave up and I told her god would not take her away from me.. but in the end he did.. I still have a tough time all these years later..my heart went out to you so much.. I hope your sister is still doing great..

Bettyanne, I am so glad for your sister and your whole family that things are looking so encouraging.......She must be feeling so relieved on some level to know that her tests are checking out ok.......

I hope she has continued improvements......May our Lord God bless her and protect her each day…
