I have another, if you need to give your plant a boost - water your plant w/left over cool tea. Do not do it to often though because the acid may be too strong for the plant! |
you can also water your plant with leftover water from boiled eggs, it has great nutrients in it... |
There are some great ideas in this thread. Thanks for sharing. I recently started using vinegar to clean and it does work and it is much cheaper than other cleaning solutions. |

vinegar is also good for killing weeds. don't use it on your lawn, but on your driveway or in a rock garden it works great |
Gosh! I had no idea vinegar could be used so much!! we need to rename this thread 101 ways to use vinegar!!! :):) my FIL bought a used truck a long time ago- the man who prev owned it must have had impaired smelling & immune to BO cuz it smell'd like stink on stank in that truck-my MIL put a glass full of vinegar in it & it really does work! I tried it myself a few months ago when milk spilled from a bad gallon got in my vehicle. |
You can use a gallon ziploc bag instead of bowls to bread meat. Just put the flour in the ziploc, drop in the meat, shake the bag until you get the is meat covered. More or less a food prep tip but it does cut down on dishes that have to be washed. |

I alslo use vinegar to clean my coffee pot. On the first of every month I pour it in the back of the coffee maker leave it in there for about 30 minutes and then run it through as if I was making a pot of coffee. Then I run to pots of water through the machine just to be sure I got the vinegar taste out. Works great! |

I also heard that you can crumple up pages from the newspaper and place in your freezer/refrigerator to take out smells. |

I also read that you can cut dryer sheets in half to use in the dryer. This makes the box last longer and it works just as well. Also, a dryer fabric softner ball is suppose to be better then the dryer sheets...it is said to cut the drying time almost in half (since it bounces thru the dryer and keeps the clothing seperated)..and it is reusable. |

I tried the newspaper on the window's and it did work well but what a mess it made of my hands. It was so hard to not touch ANYTHING w/out leaving newspaper print! My solution to cleaning the window's...............we hired someone! The are quick, so good and very reasonably priced. The only charge $5 per window, and that is for inside and out, washing the screens and everything. There coming on friday!!!!! |

It's amazing how it works. Does wonder's on that Lasanga pan. Also, instead of ironing like I have done for 50yrs:eek: put the wet clothes in the dryer for 20mins. Remove them immediately and hang making creases in pants, straightening collars and sleeves and cuffs on shirts and blouces to dry. Walla, no wringles. My daughter taught me that. I can't believe it works. I use to iron on Sun morning for 1hr. I hated it. I iron nothing now. I LOVE IT. |
