My sister said the same thing! And here I am thinking I had romper room in my house having my 4 boy's I couldn't imagine having any more then that!

I feel a couple should have as many kids as they want as long as they are the ones caring for the child's needs. I disagree with the older siblings having most if not all of the responsibility of the children. To me that is unfair. Helping around the house, and helping the younger children is the way it should be but it seems like they don't just help they take on a lot of the responsibility. Pretty sad if you ask me.

That has always been my problem with them and the way that they raise their children. I felt like they weren't allowed to be kids having to parent the others.

I see no problem with having all the children you want if you can afford it and it's not either a financial, physical or emotional burden on others.

I know I have three children and it's hard to give them all the exact attention they need.

LOL, Lori that is exactly what I tell everyone! I got it perfect the first time so what would I be trying for? Of course that is far from the real reason (except that I love having an only) but it's the nicest I'm willing to be to anyone who thinks they are in a position to question what is going on in my uterus. It is truly bizarre to me how many people think that is in any way their business.

LOL, my apologies to the op for going so off topic. I'll have to google the Duggar's as I'm not familiar with them although I'm guessing they have a boat load of kids. Guess they're still trying to get it right. I promise that was a joke on myself.

I'm just wondering how old Mrs. Duggar is? I mean - a couple should have as many children as they want as long as they can care for them and parent them. But I'm just worried about how long the kids will have "Mom and Dad" in their lives.

I was wondering about their income as well...I never watched the show, or even heard of them until I saw an article today. I wonder if they collect any aid from the government? I also saw either on their website or the article, but something about they'll have as many kids as God will allow them too, (can't remember exactly how it was worded, but that's pretty much what it said) so I also wonder if they are very religious and don't use any sort of birth control, including condoms, the pill, etc because I know some religions are against that.

I don't think they get any aid. When they first married he had worked several jobs and had gotten his real estate license. He bought some property and used that to get ahead. At first they tried preventing and when she did get pregnant she miscarried. At that point they said they realized that the lord wanted them to have children and they would count them as blessings and pray that god would allow them to have. So they keep having. I know a while back they had showed something about him running a christian book printing business. They do live frugally. I admire them for doing that but wow.

I have been pregnant 3 times and ran the gambit with problems...there is no way I could manage to be pregnant 18 times with morning sickness etc to go through.

The Duggars, as far as I know, make and do basically everything themselves. They're all homeschooled, they get most of their clothes from goodwill (etc) stores, and they built their house by themselves.
