| I know many who had direct deposits are supposed to receive theirs very soon. I imagine the checks will be mailed out shortly afterward. |

![]() So if my kids are over 17 but still dependents of mine (in college) there is no rebate for them (either to them or to us) even if they worked and paid taxes, correct? That really doesn't seem fair. The 17 to 22 years olds are the ones that would spend their rebates putting it back into the economy the pay the prez wanted us to, because they don't have a mountain of debt to apply it to yet (hopefully besides student loans).

My boyfriend is in the same situation as you. Hes so mad about it because his parents didn't contribute to his college. Last edited by spruitt7; 05-04-2008 at 03:10 PM. | |

| But the parents don't get it either, right? I could understand if the parents still got the $300 because the government assumes they are still supporting the kids for the most part. I had planned on just giving my kids their $300 from my rebate. But now it appears that NO ONE gets $$ for the 17-22 college kids. That doesn't make any sense.

| I just assumed that most parents with college kids that worked and/or were paying their own college costs would just hand over the $300 to their kids. I'm helping one and the other has a scholarship, but I had planned on giving it to them. Now I have to tell them that our rebate is half what I thought. I don't know how I missed that stipulation! Ugh!!
