| Leather Cleaner I need help. It seems that my blue jeans have dyed the leather in my car. I have a 2007 Acura MDX with the Taupe colored leather interior, and I noticed that where my legs rest on the seat there has been a blueish tint that has developed. Does anyone know what kind of leather cleaner I can use to get this off of my seats?

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I don't know if you can get ink/dye out of leather like that. I got a pen mark on my tan coach bag and it never came out...tried several leather cleaners.

| Hmm...that's not good. I guess it's more like a blue jean transfer onto the leather. I wasn't sure if there was a good interior leather for car cleaners that might address this issue. Apparently, this is a fairly common problem among people with lighter colored leather interiors, although this is a first for me.

| I had the same problem with my Ford Explorer. It has the tan leather seats also. I used Meguiar's One Step Leather Care and had really good results. (Comes in a burgandy color bottle) I got mine at Wal-Mart.

| Try these Keeping Leather Upholstery Clean: Wet a soft cloth with warm water and rub it across a wet bar of Dove Moisturizing Soap several times. Was the seats thoroughly, rinsing out the cloth and reapplying the soap as it becomes soiled. Do not rinse; instead, dry with a soft cloth. Making Ink Stains and Spots Disappear: to remove ink stains and spots from leather, apply a little cuticle remover. Dab it on te spot, rub gently with a soft cloth, and then wipe and buff. For difficult stains, you may neet to allow the cuticle remover to sit for 10 minutes or so before rubbing. Removing Dark Stains: If you have light-colored leather furniture or apparel with dark stains on it, try wiping gently with a thin paste of lemon juice and cream of tartar. Gently massage in, and then finish off with a soft, damp cloth. Be sure to rinse the leather well and follow up with the cleaning methods above

| Its a 2007... Go to a body shop and ask for the number of a good detail guy.... I wouldn't screw with my leather. I wish i had thought about all of this before I bought my honda, I have LIGHT TAN interior leather and carpets, its a pain! But I really want to keep it nice.. I switched to the all weather floor mats to protect the floors. I have noticed the transfer on my leather and thought about covering the seats, but I bought leather and if I wanted to sit on cloth, I'd have bought cloth, lol so I'll just get them cleaned every so often... Just like anything worth anything, its worth taking good care of... I'd take it to a professional. The last thing you want is really clean spots and dirty areas... lol Get the whole seat done right.
