I too- hate any type of fake puirse!!! Everyone has them here!!!

And I really hate when I have a client in my chair (I am a hairdresser) and EVERY time their damn cell phone rings,, they jump and have to answer it and then proceed to talk for 2-3 mins!!!! GGGRRRRRRR!!!!! Usually on average, a client gets 5 phone calls during thier appt!!! Its very irritating!!! Especially when I refuse to take a phone call when I have a client, I think its rude, plus I don't like to lose my consentration!!!! Then I end up running 15 mins behind and I hate running behind!!! I am very respectful of their time- I wish they were respectful about my time!!!

Kristy- I actually hate when people call soda "pop"! I also hate it when people call sprinkles "jimmies".

I have many of the same pet peeves as you all:

Fran- I hate when I hold the door for someone and they don't say "thank you." Especially if I've gone out of my way to hold it until they get to the door because they're a few feet behind me. I also hate when people don't hold the door for me- especially men- is chivalry dead??

Villette- that is one of my biggest pet peeves- when a car pulls in front of you and there is NO ONE behind you for miles! Like they couldn't have waited an additional 10 seconds for me to pass. And... if you're going to pull in front of me, at least do the damn speed limit!!!

I also hate:
-slow internet service
-high gas prices (can't we find a cheaper alternate fuel source?!)
-bad cell phone signals
-long lines at the grocery store because there are only a few cashiers on
-wire hangers
-the fact that my mom doesn't believe I'm allergic to peas
-when anyone touches my collar bone (I freak out)
-when my boyfriend leaves crumbs on the counter- tell me he doesn't notice them?!?!
-when people wear shoes in my house
-when people don't supervise their children in public (for their safety and my sanity)
-unintelligent elected officials (especially when they're re-elected)
-the sound of cotton being pulled apart
-sweaty feet
-snow and anything associated with it
-irresponsible pet owners
-when people brake before they signal (or don't bother to signal at all)

I have. It is annoying. My friend and I were making cupcakes and she's like "oh are you going to put jimmies on there?" and I say "you want me to sprinkle a bunch of men named Jim on the cupcakes???!!!!"

First I call them Jimmies and my husband looks at me like he can't comprehend because I didn't call them by the name he does.

LOL! I never did until I was in college. I worked at an ice cream shop and we had to upsell each sale and ask "Would you like a topping on that?" That was the first time that someone asked for "jimmies" and I was lost. I even asked them to repeat it a couple of times because I thought I misheard them. Now, mind you, the label on the topping clearly said "sprinkles", but they still said "jimmies" over and over and looked at me like I was a total idiot!

- tooth paste left on sink,, (when you spit it out)
-people that leave trashcans out for days, after trash has gone.

-people swinging way left to turn right!

I was trying to replay earily, but got interrupted by my IT guy who made me log off. I hate interruption. I have a lot so bare with me.

-Anyone encroaching on my personal space or touching my stuff without asking
-bosses who micromanage
-My husband shuts off the lights while i'm in the room. I hate the dark.
-People asking when i'm going to have children, I've been married 3 yrs & am 25 yrs old. right now the answer is never sometimes i'm not even sure i can handle the dog.
-When people talk to me while i'm reading and they expect me to answer.
-People that try to change my opinion on a subject to there opinion
-People that whistle (Sorry to anyone that likes to whistle)
-When my parents give my grown, older brother money on top of the job they gave him at there company.
-Hair touching my arm that i can't find.
-Dishes in the sink
-people that show up unannounced
-Fighting with my husband about who's gonna call for pizza (we both hate using phones)
-People telling me what to do
-My mom's ability to turn anything I say into something she hates about my personality
-backhanded compliments

That's all my pet peeves
but i have to brag that my husband does do the laundry and picks up after himself.
We both close the toilet lid completely so the cat doesnt' fall in. So I've yet to fall in since I was married.

Also on the tatoo thing-when people ask if they hurt i say no they felt good and kinda turned me on that usually ends the conversation.

Listing my pet peeves is like opening a can of worms.. it reminds me of all the things I hate. *lol* Most of my rants are job related, I work at an answering service.

I can't stand it when people say "Listen" on the phone. That drives me crazy, it's obvious I'm listening to you, I'm on the freakin' phone with you.

I abhor when people go on a 10 minute rant without taking a breath and then stop mid sentence to ask if I'm still listening. Like I'm supposed to interrupt them on their rant to make sure they know I'm still on the line.

I hate when people exaggerate. You would not believe how many people told me they were going to die from not having water in their shower and how it would be my fault. Are you kidding me?!?!?!

I hate inconsiderate neighbors... especially loud noisy ones. During the day I can endure it, but I don't want to hear your stereo bumping at 4am.

I really dislike people who pick up my dog without asking my permission first. I was at a gas station yesterday with my dogs and this lady comes out of nowhere and just picks Tuffy up! WTH!

I strongly dislike children with no manners and hate their parents for not teaching them any.

I hate, hate, hate people who are rude to the answering service operators. It's not our fault that your doctor/apartment complex/etc doesn't think your problem is an emergency. We don't make the rules, we just have to follow them.. if you have a gripe, take it to someone who matters, not me. Please don't yell at the operators who answer your calls, we are people and we do get hurt by your ugly comments. Someone actually threatened to kill me because his toilet wasn't working.. yeah, that's the kind of rude I'm talking about.

I could go on and on and on... and on... but I think I got my main ones out. This is a fun thread, helped me get out my gripes.

Oh man, what a great thread.

People who don't enunciate in person or on the phone. Speak CLEARLY! I don't read minds!

People who speed up, pass you on the right, get in front of you, and then slow down to a snail's pace.

People who don't ask when they want to see your dog.

UNRULY CHILDREN! Control them! All my mom had to say was "Do you want to go to the bathroom and have a talk??" and we were SILENT!

People who park 2 inches away from your car and leave a generous 20 miles between themselves and the next car over.

People who assume I have an eating disorder because I have a fast metabolism.

I have a thousand more... But I'll spare you.

Default This thread's great!!

I have to add my two cents worth!!

All of the above and then some!!

Pulling out in front of you is bad enough but then going 5mph once they're in front of you!! That the part that really ticks me! And going slow in the passing lane!! "Keep right except to pass" is the law in my state!

Being a safe distance behind a car (one car length per 10 mph-but usually less!) only to have some one cut in.

Rude people - NO ONE is above common courtesy as far as I'm concerned!

People who stop in front of doors/elevators/stairways and hold a conversation oblivious of the people trying to get around them (that's actually one for the listing above, isn't it!)

People who don't tell you who it is on the phone. Or worse yet, they tell you to guess who! I've been known to hang up on people for that one! Then they have the nerve to call back all pissed off!! (There is a guy who calls my boss several times a day and just says "is he there?" After about a year of sweetly asking "may I ask who is calling" he finally gets it and now says hi and his name first. But it took a YEAR!!)

People who cut in line or interupt when someone is helping you as if they are more important than you are!

People who say, "Do you know who I am?" (Usually don't care!)

Service people who answer the phone and leave you hanging forever while they take care of the phone call. (Hey, at least I made the effort to come in person! Tell them on the phone to please hold!)

Talk about anal!!! These are just the ones on top of my head!! LOL

Default Oh yeah!!

And people who leave a message, but say their number so fast or mumbled that you can't understand it!!

Wheww! How could I forget that one! It's one of my biggies! (See what I mean by anal!) lol

I just thought of another one...

When you get a call from telemarketers and have to wait for an actual person to get on the line. Hello! If you want to reach me, someone had better be on the other end when I pick up! Don't call me and make me wait.

Oh, Sherry Lynn- Great story to go with the "Do you know who I am?!" pet peeve. My bf's friend was in a clothing store, walking down a tight isle, and the neighboring city's mayor was in the same isle walking toward him. Mike (the friend) moved out of the way, but he still bumped the mayor a bit. The mayor turned and looked and him and said "Do you know who I am?!" Mike said yeah, but I don't live in ..." (the mayor's city.) What an @ss. Just to put this into perspective for everyone- the city has about 40,000 people in it- we're not talking NYC or Los Angeles or anywhere great. He's done nothing to improve the city and has actually done some things that a lot of people aren't fond of. If you're going to walk around with a chip on your shoulder, make sure it's a well-deserved chip or else you just look like a moron!

Great thread, by the way!

Stores that put strobe lights up - they trigger migrains and epileptic seizures in some people.
People that say 'it's just a dog'.
Most of all - intolerance.

Lida hates:
Empty food bowls
Not being able to get on the chair by herself
Lost toys.
