Lets Talk Wine.... So what is your favorite wine? Mine right now is Principato Rosato.. it is awesome! I am not a fan of tart sour wines and this one is great! Lots of good flavors! Even hubby loves it... |
I have yet to find a wine I like. To me all the ones I've had so far were pretty gross. |
My favorite wine is from CakeBread Most if not all of their selections. I love really dry flat serahs or cabernate, but so far anything CakeBread is heavenly  |
:mtongue: You are making my mouth water. My favorite wine is Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio. |

I was like that too ... but trust me when I say that the wine I mentioned is GREAT~ Not tart at all.. and it doesnt leave a bad taste or dry taste in your mouth... they sell it at Olive Garden ... it is a very popular selection there... |
Anyone tried Beaujolais Nouveau ... ? |
Im a cheap wino. I like Alice White Chardonay, it is from Australia. |
I like Chateau St Michelle Risling from WA. Nice flavor. We visited the winery when we were in WA last year and hope to go again in June |
I like Sterling vintner's collection- chardonnay is very good! My sister and I drank it everday when Ilived in StL- oh that does not sound good:eek: Just a glass or 2 w/ dinner/ect- well sometimes more:D Also her Bf has a climate control wine Celler/storage in his basement! He had some red wine - Storybook one time that I loved!!! But it is pretty pricey, like $45 a bottle- if you buy a case! Way out of my price range!! Also I like some of the Frances Coppella- (SP?) Ah... I could go on and on:D |
I love wine. My FIL (now deceased) was a well-known winemaker in the Napa Valley. Beringer named a wine after him:) . I grew up in the Napa Valley and am unfortunately totally SPOILED when it comes to wine (although, I don't think Napa is the ONLY place that makes stellar wines!). So, a few of my FAVORITE wines are: Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Turley (anything...it's all excellent ..and he used to be an ER Dr; I worked with him in Santa Rosa) Truchard (most of their stuff is good too...and he used to be a GP dr; I worked with him in Reno! Weird how small the world becomes!) One of my VERY favorite white wines is Trimbach Alsace Riesling...it's so fresh tasting....wonderful for a hot summer afternoon! And you can usually find it at Trader Joe's! And for champagne~ my affordable favorite special champagne is Schramsberg~ all of them, LOL. The Blanc de Noir is probably close to my favorite though. |
OH...and if you can find a wine called Crane Lake (they also make a champagne)...if you want something that's OK for everyday (or if you're having a big party...( I can't drink the 2 buck chuck...charles shaw; it gives me an instant headache for some reason), this is it! It sells for around $2.49 or so a bottle....the sparkling is something in the $3.49 range. They make a bunch of different varietals...chardonnay, pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, cabernet, zinfandel, syrah, malbec, and maybe a few others....it's not the worse wine I've ever tasted! |

Ok, now that I've responded to everyone else's, LOL, here are a few of my faves: -7 Deadly Zins-A really good spicy/berry mix of 7 zinfandels -St. Supery Moscato-A sweet, fruity dessert/summer wine -Columbia Crest Cellarmaster's Riesling-DH's favorite fruity wine, it's really sweet and good for dessert & with cheese -Yellow Tail Shiraz-A nice spicy/toasty red, a good wine for your buck-it's usually on sale for around $7. -Barefoot Zinfandel-another good bottle for your buck, if you're going cheap for a night :) Usually around $6 -Dancing Bull Zinfandel-tasty zin, goes down easy and goes with almost everything. It's bottled by the same vineyard as Rancho Zabaco-if you can find the RZ it's the same thing, only BETTER! -Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc-a nice, light, crisp citrusy white wine, good chilled, and with or without food OMG I could go on and on...can you tell I LOVE wine and drink a lot of it?!? |
I am in LOVE with Ice Wine;) My affair started about 10 years ago when I had found a book called One Tank Trips In Ohio, it had a thing about going to Canada and trying a sweet wine called Ice wine. I just had to get some and try it since I never really had heard of it before. Well, I have yet to taste a bottle that I do not like. I have tried German, Canadian and US Ice Wine and I really love all that I have tried so far. It can be $20 on up past $80 for a bottle though, so it is pricey! I was in Heaven when we took a trip to Niagara Falls 5 years ago, my husband took me to Niagara On The Lake wine tour and I got to taste a lot of great Ice wine from the many Wineries their. |
I can't believe I totally forgot to mention a bottle of wine that I just picked up this evening! I have never heard of it before, but it had a cute label and (honestly) I wouldn't have bought it except it was named Dog House "Maxi's Merlot"...it's made by a winery called Dog House....don't know if they make other varietals or not: I just happened to see it; it was on sale and there were only 2 bottles left. It's got a screw cap (the new hot thing in wine bottling) and it actually was not bad at all. I'm not a big Merlot fan, but it was good. I think it was $7.99 a bottle. Winery says it's in Santa Rosa. Will have to look it up on the internet. There was a tag on it with some info that I haven't had time to read yet; I think they donate a portion of their proceeds to Guide Dogs or something. |

My very favorite is Piesporter Michelsberg Kabinett, preferably by Weber. It is very mellow. I can't take very dry or very tart wine. I have tasted some pretty awful wines. |
I like Berringer Zinfandel. Its cheap but its what i like |
I'm pretty much a snob when it comes to wine. I hate to admit it, but I will because its true. We spent two years living in Italy. My favorite types of wine are Chianti, Shiraz, and Barollo and I will drink Merlot if nothing else is offered. My favorite brand of wine is Dievole from the Tuscany region of Italy. (Their vineyard is amazing. We spent a romantic getaway there). Barollo's are absolutely stunning but NEVER drink one straight out of the bottle (which I rarely do anyway) and be willing to put some money up for it. We keep some of these in our wine fridge for special occasions. I may be a snob about it but it doesn't always have to do with the money. There are some really good wines that are nicely priced as well. I love Yellow Tail Shiraz for example. The best part of wine drinking is the experimenting and sitting around talking as you enjoy a good wine. I loved that about Italy. Everything was centered around food and wine! |

I do not know anything about wine, we just keep trying different wines to see what we like and don't like. I like red wine, I'm not crazy about white. A few that we have tried and liked alot are: Enotria Barbera Red Tree Peace ( this is a blend and it's cheap, they served it at a B&B we stayed at and it's actually pretty good. It's from Australia ) |
This has to be one of my favorite YT threads yet! ;) |
